Antimicrobial properties of papaya (Vasconcellea pubescens) subjected to low-temperature vacuum dehydration

Innovative Food Science & Emerging Technologies, 2021
Abstract Low-Temperature Vacuum Drying (LTVD) could be considered an alternative to conventional food drying methods at high temperature in preserving bioactive compounds from foods. Thereby, the aim of this work was to evaluate the antioxidant and antimicrobial potential of papaya (Vasconcellea pubescens) pulp after LTVD compared to other drying ...

Modelado de la Cinética de Secado de la Papaya Chilena (Vasconcellea pubescens)

open access: yesInformacion Tecnologica (discontinued), 2006

In-vivo acute toxicological studies of Vasconcellea pubescens A. DC. fruit extract against hepatic injury

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020
Vasconcellea pubescens A. DC. or mountain papaya fruit was extracted by means of maceration. This research aims to evaluate acute toxicity test on white mice liver. The toxicity parameter will be determined on LD50, toxic effect symptoms, SGPT serum levels, and hepatic histology profile. The experiment used 25 male Swiss Webster albino mice.

Chemical and bioactive characterization of papaya (Vasconcellea pubescens) under different drying technologies: evaluation of antioxidant and antidiabetic potential

Journal of Food Measurement and Characterization, 2019
Chilean papaya slices were dried using different technologies to evaluate the effect of the different technologies on drying kinetics, bioactive compounds and biological activities. Five techniques were used: freeze drying (FD), vacuum drying (VD), solar drying (SD), convective drying (CD) and infrared drying (IRD).
