ABSTRACT The Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) can be hunted as a game species. It may also be listed as a “species likely to cause damage” (ESOD – the acronym in French), for public health reasons among others. Conversely, benefits linked to the presence of foxes are also put forward, such as the predation of rodents carrying zoonotic agents.

Impact of mercury released from permafrost on food safety in Switzerland
ABSTRACT Climate change has caused the permafrost to thaw, releasing the previously sequestered mercury into the environment. Mercury has the ability to convert to methylmercury, a bioaccumulative neurotoxin. Exposure occurs in humans through the ingestion of contaminated food and it is associated with adverse health effects.

Exploratory survey on energy costs and their potential impact on food safety
Summary The cost of living and energy prices in particular have risen sharply since April 2022. Some sections of the population had to adjust their standard of living, which can affect food safety. This study looked at this issue and surveyed more than 1,200 people in Switzerland in early February 2024 on their behaviour.
