Visual-inertial curve SLAM [PDF]
We present a simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm that uses Bezier curves as static landmark primitives rather than sparse feature points. Our approach allows us to estimate the full 6-DOF pose of a robot while providing a structured map which can be used to assist a robot in motion planning and control.

A Hybrid Visual-Based SLAM Architecture: Local Filter-Based SLAM with KeyFrame-Based Global Mapping
This work presents a hybrid visual-based SLAM architecture that aims to take advantage of the strengths of each of the two main methodologies currently available for implementing visual-based SLAM systems, while at the same time minimizing some of their ...

KEYFRAME-BASED VISUAL-INERTIAL SLAM USING NONLINEAR OPTIMIZATION [PDF]
—The fusion of visual and inertial cues has become popular in robotics due to the complementary nature of the two sensing modalities. While most fusion strategies to date rely on filtering schemes, the visual robotics community has recently turned to non-

Featureless visual processing for SLAM in changing outdoor environments [PDF]
Vision-based SLAM is mostly a solved problem providing clear, sharp images can be obtained. However, in outdoor environments a number of factors such as rough terrain, high speeds and hardware limitations can result in these conditions not being met ...
