Edge SLAM: Edge Points Based Monocular Visual SLAM [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision Workshops (ICCVW), 2017
Visual SLAM shows significant progress in recent years due to high attention from vision community but still, challenges remain for low-textured environments. Feature based visual SLAMs do not produce reliable camera and structure estimates due to insufficient features in a low-textured environment.

Visual simultaneous localization and mapping algorithm of coal mine underground considering image enhancement

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2023
The visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm based on the feature point method has certain applications in coal mines. However, due to factors such as uneven lighting, variable lighting, and alternating light and dark areas, the ...

ProSLAM: Graph SLAM from a Programmer's Perspective

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we present ProSLAM, a lightweight stereo visual SLAM system designed with simplicity in mind. Our work stems from the experience gathered by the authors while teaching SLAM to students and aims at providing a highly modular system that can ...

The Impact of Tilburg Frailty on Poststroke Fatigue in First‐Ever Stroke Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study With Unified Measurement Tools and Improved Statistics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Poststroke fatigue (PSF) and frailty share substantial overlap in their manifestations, yet previous research has yielded conflicting results due to the use of heterogeneous frailty assessment tools. Objective To evaluate the independent impact of frailty on PSF using a unified measurement system (Tilburg Frailty Indicator, TFI ...

DM-SLAM: A Feature-Based SLAM System for Rigid Dynamic Scenes

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2020
Most Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) methods assume that environments are static. Such a strong assumption limits the application of most visual SLAM systems.

Mobile Robot Localization and Mapping Algorithm Based on the Fusion of Image and Laser Point Cloud

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Given the lack of scale information of the image features detected by the visual SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) algorithm, the accumulation of many features lacking depth information will cause scale blur, which will lead to degradation and

Map point selection for visual SLAM

open access: yesRobotics and Autonomous Systems, 2023
Simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM) play a vital role in autonomous robotics. Robotic platforms are often resource-constrained, and this limitation motivates resource-efficient SLAM implementations. While sparse visual SLAM algorithms offer good accuracy for modest hardware requirements, even these more scalable sparse approaches face ...

Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...

Biomimetic Iridescent Skin: Robust Prototissues Spontaneously Assembled from Photonic Protocells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Uniform nanoparticles are induced to form arrays (photonic crystals) in the cores of biopolymer capsules, endowing these ‘protocells’ with structural color. These protocells are then assembled into large self‐standing objects, i.e., prototissues, with robust mechanical properties as well as iridescent optical properties.
