Heparan sulfate proteoglycans mediate internalization and degradation of beta-VLDL and promote cholesterol accumulation by pigeon macrophages

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1997
Pigeon and rabbit beta-migrating very low density lipoprotein (beta-VLDL) are similar in size and composition, yet rabbit beta-VLDL consistently stimulates greater cholesteryl ester accumulation in pigeon peritoneal macrophages than does pigeon beta-VLDL.

Effect of High Fructose Corn Syrup and Citric Acid in Broiler Diets on Performance, Gut pH, Immunity, Antioxidant Status and Some Blood Parameters

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 4, July 2025.
Although HFCS negatively affected performance both alone and when mixed with citric acid, citric acid alone positively affects performance. In addition, HFCS together with citric acid increased serum TCHO and HDL‐CHO levels. Although HFCS and citric acid do not have antioxidant effects as both mixtures and alone, it has been determined that citric acid

Interrelationship between rat serum very low density and high density lipoproteins

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1972
An exchange of phospholipids and certain peptides among various classes of rat serum lipoproteins has been demonstrated and its nature has been investigated.

Broiler Responses to Dietary Fibre Sources at Different Ages: Effects on Growth Performance, Nutrient Digestibility, Blood Parameters and Intestinal Morphology

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 4, July 2025.
Inclusion of rice hulls during the grower period and sugar beet pulp during the finisher period improved FCR and BWG in broiler chickens. Combined fibre sources enhanced nutrient digestibility and increased villus height–to–crypt depth ratio. ABSTRACT Background Previous studies investigated the effect of different levels of fibre sources, but little ...
