Objective Studies have shown that Flavivirus infection remodels the host cell to favour viral replication. In particular, the host cell lipid profile is altered, and it has been proposed that this process alters membrane fluidity to allow wrapping of the

Production of Norovirus VLPs to size homogeneity
Expression of full-length major capsid protein of Noroviruses (NoVs) in sf9 cells using recombinant baculovirus expression system leads to the formation of virus-like particles (VLPs) with two sizes. In our pursuit of VLPs with uniform sizes, we find that N terminal truncated capsid protein formed primary VLPs with an average size of 21 nm.

Shotgun Metagenomic Profiling of the Gut Virome in Prodromal and Confirmed Parkinson's Disease
We conducted a nested case‐control study within the Nurses’ Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow‐up Study to examine the role of the gut virome (GV) in Parkinson's disease (PD). We applied a novel metagenomic virome profiling approach, Bioinformatic Application for Quantification and Labeling of Viral taxonomy (BAQLaVa), to prospectively ...

Modular vaccine platform based on the norovirus-like particle
Background Virus-like particle (VLP) vaccines have recently emerged as a safe and effective alternative to conventional vaccine technologies. The strong immunogenic effects of VLPs can be harnessed for making vaccines against any pathogen by decorating ...

Identification Epitope on VP4 Protein of Senecavirus A Recognized by a Monoclonal Antibody
This study aims to identify conserved antigenic epitopes on the SVA VP4 protein using monoclonal antibodies, providing valuable tools for further exploring its functions and developing detection methods. SVA VP4 protein was expressed in Escherichia coli and purified with High‐Affinity Ni‐Charged Resin FF.

Virus-like particle vaccines: immunology and formulation for clinical translation
Introduction: Virus-like particle (VLP) vaccines face significant challenges in their translation from laboratory models, to routine clinical administration. While some VLP vaccines thrive and are readily adopted into the vaccination schedule, others are
