Poliovirus serotype-specific VP1 sequencing primers

Journal of Virological Methods, 2011
The Global Polio Laboratory Network routinely uses poliovirus-specific PCR primers and probes to determine the serotype and genotype of poliovirus isolates obtained as part of global poliovirus surveillance. To provide detailed molecular epidemiologic information, poliovirus isolates are further characterized by sequencing the ~900-nucleotide region ...

Synthesis of the SV40 viral polypeptide Vp1 during infection

Virology, 1978
Abstract The synthesis of simian virus 40, SV40, polypeptides in permissively infected cells was studied by a very sensitive method utilizing 125I-labeled antibodies to identify and quantitate polypepties immobilized in gels. The synthesis of Vp1 begins about 24 hr postinfection, with the majority of the Vp1 being found in the nucleus.

Self-assembly of purified polyomavirus capsid protein VP1

Cell, 1986
The polyomavirus major capsid protein VP1, purified after expression of the recombinant gene in E. coli, was isolated as oligomers resembling the dissociated capsomeres derived from viral capsids. Image analysis of low-dose electron micrographs demonstrates that these VP1 oligomers are exclusively pentamers.

[Expression of structural protein VP1 of enterovirus 71 in E.coli and preparation of anti-VP1 monoclonal antibodies].

Xi bao yu fen zi mian yi xue za zhi = Chinese journal of cellular and molecular immunology, 2013
To express recombinant structural protein VP1 of enterovirus 71 (EV71) in E.coli and prepare anti-VP1 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). With P1 gene as a template, EV71 VP1 gene was amplified by PCR and cloned into the expression vector pET-32a(+). After transformation into E.coli TG1, the positive clones were screened and sequenced.

Insertion of MAP4-VP1 Peptide Into Lipid Monolayers and Bilayers

Biomedical Chromatography, 1997
Myscibility of dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) with dipalmitoylphosphatidylglycerol (DPPG), cardiolipine (CL) and dipalmitoylphosphatidylethanolamine (DPPE) was studied using monomolacular layers of different compositions. The influence of MAP4-VP1 peptide construct related to HAV protein in mixed monolayers of the above cited lipid components ...

Genetic immunization is augmented by murine polyomavirus VP1 pseudocapsids

Vaccine, 2003
To improve immune responses induced by DNA immunization, murine polyomavirus major capsid protein (VP1) pseudocapsids were complexed with a DNA plasmid encoding the p37 (p24 and p17) nucleocapsid proteins of the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1).

A complex between poliovirus RNA and the structural polypeptide VP1

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1976
Abstract The isolation of a complex between poliovirus RNA and the structural polypeptide VP1 is reported. This ribonucleopolypeptide (RNPP) is obtained by dissociation of poliovirus by urea and by subsequent centrifugation in urea containing sucrose gradients in hypotonic phosphate buffered saline. It sediments at about 45S and is sensitive to RNase

Expression of poliovirus capsid polypeptide VP1 in Escherichia coli

Gene, 1983
A recombinant plasmid (pPV1-958) carrying a poliovirus cDNA insert corresponding to nucleotides 1-5750 of the poliovirus RNA genome was constructed through in vitro recombination of two plasmids carrying overlapping poliovirus cDNA inserts (Van der Werf et al., Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 78 (1981) 5983-5987). pPV1-958 was then cleaved with PstI and the
