Polar orthogonal representations of real reductive algebraic groups
We prove that a polar orthogonal representation of a real reductive algebraic group has the same closed orbits as the isotropy representation of a pseudo-Riemannian symmetric space.

ABSTRACT Hypertension is a major contributor to cardiovascular diseases, being the most common comorbidity and the biggest risk factor in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. Angiotensin II (Ang II) is a known hypertension and heart failure inducer in mice, but its role in the causality in phenotype development remains unclear.

Identification of the 15FRFG domain in HIV-1 Gag p6 essential for Vpr packaging into the virion
The auxiliary regulatory protein Vpr of HIV-1 is packaged in the virion through interaction with the Gag C-terminal p6 domain. Virion packaging of Vpr is critical for Vpr to exert functions in the HIV-1 life cycle.

The Koszul complex of a moment map
Let $K\to U(V)$ be a unitary representation of the compact Lie group $K$. Then there is a canonical moment mapping $\rho\colon V\to\mathfrak k^*$. We have the Koszul complex ${\mathcal K}(\rho,\mathcal C^\infty(V))$ of the component functions $\rho_1,...,

Vpr, a 14-kDa, 96 amino acid protein, is conserved among the primate lentiviruses HIV-1, HIV-2 and Simian Immunodeficiency virus supporting the notion that it plays an important role in virus life cycle in vivo. Vpr appears to have several functions including cell cycle arrest at G2 stage, apoptosis, nuclear localization, nuclear import of the pre ...

Following infection with Human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) there is a remarkable variation in virus replication and disease progression. Both host and viral factors have been implicated in the observed differences in disease status. Here, we focus on understanding the contribution of HIV-1 viral protein R (Vpr) by evaluating the disease-associated

Construction of a Prokaryotic Expression Vector harboring Two HIV-1 Accessory Genes
Background and objectives: HIV-1 Nef and Vpr antigens have been described as suitable candidates for therapeutic HIV vaccine development. The aim of this study was to generate Nef-Vpr fusion gene construct and to clone the construct into pET-23a (+), a ...

Illuminating the Role of Vpr in HIV Infection of Myeloid Cells
Vpr is a 14 kDa accessory protein conserved amongst extant primate lentiviruses that is required for virus replication in vivo. Although many functions have been attributed to Vpr, its primary role, and the function under selective pressure in vivo ...

Decentralized dynamic task allocation for UAVs with limited communication range
We present the Limited-range Online Routing Problem (LORP), which involves a team of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) with limited communication range that must autonomously coordinate to service task requests.
