The multiple hit model of infantile and epileptic spasms: The 2025 update

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Infantile and epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS) is a developmental and epileptic encephalopathy manifesting with epileptic spasms and poor neurodevelopmental outcomes. There is an urgent need for the development of more effective and tolerated therapies.

Predicting the intra-cyclic variation of the velocity of the centre of mass from segmental velocities in butterfly stroke: a pilot study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the intra-cycle variation of the horizontal velocity of displacement of the center of mass (dV), the hand’s and feet’s velocity, as well as, to identify the variables that most predict ...

Kohn-Sham Exchange Potential for a Metallic Surface

open access: yes, 2006
The behavior of the surface barrier that forms at the metal-vacuum interface is important for several fields of surface science. Within the Density Functional Theory framework, this surface barrier has two non-trivial components: exchange and correlation.

On the rho invariant for manifolds with boundary

open access: yes, 2002
This article is a follow up of the previous article of the authors on the analytic surgery of eta- and rho-invariants. We investigate in detail the (Atiyah-Patodi-Singer)-rho-invariant for manifolds with boundary.

A Perspective of Multi‐Reflecting TOF MS

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (TOF MS) excels in rapid and high‐sensitivity analysis, making it a cornerstone of analytical chemistry. But as sample complexity explodes in omics studies, so does the need for higher resolving power to ensure accurate results.

Inhibition of mitotic kinase Aurora suppresses Akt-1 activation and induces apoptotic cell death in all-trans retinoid acid-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia cells

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2011
Background Aurora kinase ensures accurate chromosome segregation during cell cycle, maintaining genetic integrity in cell division. VX-680, a small-molecule Aurora kinase inhibitor, interferes with mitotic entry and formation of bipolar spindles.

Advances and Prospects of Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy: Evolving Paradigms in Precision Oncology

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract outlines the progressive development and impact of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). Technological Evolution illustrates the transition from brachytherapy with single‐dose, LDR/HDR schedules to fractionated radiotherapy, three‐dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and Gamma Knife ...

VX-770-mediated potentiation of numerous human CFTR disease mutants is influenced by phosphorylation level

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
VX-770 (ivacaftor) is approved for clinical use in CF patients bearing multiple CFTR mutations. VX-770 potentiated wildtype CFTR and several disease mutants expressed in oocytes in a manner modulated by PKA-mediated phosphorylation.
