MYB Factors: Hubs of Plant Stress and Hormone Crosstalk

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT MYB transcription factors function as main regulatory hubs that integrate environmental signals with multi‐hormonal pathways to synchronize plant growth, metabolism and stress responses. This review delineates the regulatory roles of MYB in the signalling pathway of salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, ethylene and abscisic acid signalling.

Prehaustorial resistance to the wheat leaf rust fungus, Puccinia triticina, in Triticum monococcum (s.s.)

open access: yes, 2001
Diploid wheat, Triticum monococcum s.l., is a host for the wheat leaf rust fungus, Puccinia triticina. Some accessions have been reported to show a high degree of prehaustorial resistance.

Genome‐Wide Association Study Elucidates the Genetic Architecture of Manganese Tolerance in Brassica napus

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Brassica napus (canola) is a significant contributor to the world's oil production and is cultivated across continents, yet acidic soils with aluminium (Al3+) and manganese (Mn2+) toxicities limit its production. The genetic determinants underlying natural variation for acidic soil tolerance in canola are unknown and need to be determined ...

Polar Lipid and Fatty Acid Profiles of Oat Groats Substantially Influenced by Field Management: A Comparison of Cultivars, Sowing Times and Fertilizer Composition

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The polar lipids in oat grains are crucial due to their biological functions, nutritional quality, potential use in food flavour and processing, the protection they provide against biotic and abiotic stresses, and their ability to act as cellular signalling molecules.

Wheat induced urticaria

open access: yes, 2004
Wheat is widely consumed all over India in various forms - flour, daliya, maida, suji and wheat bran. Very few cases of wheat induced urticaria have been reported. This may be due to unusual features of wheat related hypersensitivity.

Incidence and risk factors for food hypersensitivity in UK infants: results from a birth cohort study

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: The prevalence of food hypersensitivity in the UK is still largely open to debate. Additionally its pathogenesis is also unclear although it is known that there are differing phenotypes.

IgE binding to soluble and insoluble wheat flour proteins in atopic and non-atopic patients suffering from gastrointestinal symptoms after wheat ingestion.

open access: yes, 2001
The involvement of IgE-mediated hypersensitivity reactions in the genesis of gastrointestinal symptoms after ingestion of foods containing wheat has been rarely reported.

Shigella Effector VirA Suppresses Plant Immunity by Compromising PRA1.F3‐Dependent Accumulation of FLS2 at the Plasma Membrane

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surface immune receptors such as flagellin‐sensitive 2 (FLS2) are critical for plant defence, and their accumulation at the plasma membrane is tightly controlled by the endomembrane system. Here, we identify the Arabidopsis thaliana prenylated Rab acceptor PRA1.F3 as a positive regulator required for efficient accumulation of FLS2 at the ...
