Effect of Natural Polyphenols on Breast Cancer Chemoprevention and Treatment

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, EarlyView.
Effect of Natural Polyphenols on Breast Cancer proliferation and progression. ABSTRACT Breast cancer is the most common type of malignancy among women worldwide. Significant achievements have been made in diagnostic tools and cancer treatments in the past decade; however, the complexity and heterogeneity of certain breast cancer subtypes often lead to ...

The Biomineralization in Social Wasps (Vespinae): The Presence of Statoliths [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
In social wasps granular aggregates occur mainly in the head region and the body integument. In the former location they are present both on the outer and inner side of the frons.

Recent developments in the chemistry and enzyme inhibitory activity of fused thiazoles and thiadiazoles

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract The combination of cyclization reactions of thiadiazoles and benzothiazoles with Pd‐catalyzed cross‐coupling reactions provided a convenient synthesis of annulated, fluorinated and non‐fluorinated heterocycles, such as 1,3,4‐thiadiazolo[3,2‐a]pyrimidin‐5‐ones, benzothiazolo[3,2‐a]pyridimidin‐4‐ones, benzothiazolo[2,3‐b]quinazolin‐12‐ones and ...

GAS‐J, a User‐Friendly Browser Application for Genome Assembly, emm‐Typing, MLST Typing, and Virulence Factor Gene Detection of Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesMicrobiology and Immunology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Clinical isolates of Streptococcus pyogenes are usually classified using emm and multilocus sequence typing (MLST). Recently, whole genome sequencing (WGS) has been employed for emm typing and MLST analysis. WGS data provides additional information on the presence of virulence factor genes.

Lower time‐averaged serum uric acid was associated with increased mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, Volume 29, Issue 3, Page 479-490, June 2025.
Abstract Background The relationship between time‐averaged serum uric acid (TA‐SUA) levels and prognosis in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients are rarely discussed. Methods This was a retrospective cohort study. PD patients recruited from January 1, 2011, to December 31, 2020, were included.

MMF Is an Effective and Safer Treatment Options for Treatment‐Naïve Patients With Autoimmune Hepatitis Compared to Azathioprine: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Digestive Diseases, EarlyView.
Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) demonstrates superior efficacy and tolerability compared to azathioprine (AZA) in treatment‐naïve autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) patients. Meta‐analysis of five studies reveals higher complete biochemical response rates, increased Corticosteroid withdrawal rate, and fewer gastrointestinal side effects with MMF.

Downregulation of NAD Kinase Expression in β‐Cells Contributes to the Aging‐Associated Decline in Glucose‐Stimulated Insulin Secretion

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 4, April 2025.
Adequate NADK/NADK2 level is essential to the proper functioning of redox and folate cycles and the purine biosynthesis pathway, and as well as maintenance of GSIS response. During aging, diminished NADK/NADK2 expression alters the metabolic status quo, increasing AICAR production. The latter activates AMPK and suppresses GSIS.
