Biochemical and Thermodynamic Studies on a Novel Thermotolerant GH10 Xylanase from Bacillus safensis
Xylanases have a broad range of applications in agro-industrial processes. In this study, we report on the discovery and characterization of a new thermotolerant GH10 xylanase from Bacillus safensis, designated as BsXyn10. The xylanase gene (bsxyn10) was

Properties and production of xylooligosaccharide.
Properties and production of xylooligosaccharide with a bioreactor were studied. Substrate (xylan) was packed in a reactor. And buffer with an amount of enzyme was passed through the reactor. Enzyme absorbed to xylan hydrolyzed xylan to form xylooligosaccharide. Xylooligosaccharide was eluted earlier than the enzyme from the reactor.

Xylooligosaccharides Alleviate Inflammatory Dermatoses and Related Depression-Like Behaviors in Atopic Dermatitis Mice Induced by 2,4-Dinitrofluorobenzene [PDF]
Objective: To investigate the influence of xylooligosaccharides on skin inflammation, behavioral characteristics, neurotransmitters, and gut flora in a mouse model of atopic dermatitis (AD) induced by 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB).

Immunomodulatory Effects of Xylooligosaccharides
Xylooligosaccharides (XOs) are considered as food ingredients, and exhibit the prebiotic effects related to gut modulation. However, no related research is available to explain their immunomodulatory effects. This report elucidated their immunomodulatory effects through the variations of proinflammatory mediators in vitro. We found that XOs (0.1-100 mu

Utilization of xylooligosaccharides by selected ruminal bacteria [PDF]
The ability of ruminal bacteria to utilize xylooligosaccharides was examined. Xylooligosaccharides were prepared by partially hydrolyzing oat spelt xylan in phosphoric acid. This substrate solution was added (0.2%, wt/vol) to a complex medium containing yeast extract and Trypticase that was inoculated with individual species of ruminal bacteria, and ...
