Environmentally Friendly Approach for the Production of Glucose and High-Purity Xylooligosaccharides from Edible Biomass Byproducts

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) production from sweet sorghum bagasse (SSB) has been barely studied using other edible biomasses. Therefore, we evaluated the XOS content as well as its purity by comparing the content of total sugars from SSB.

Enterococcus faecium s6 Enabled Efficient Homofermentative Lactic Acid Production from Xylan-Derived Sugars

open access: yesFermentation, 2022
A thermotolerant Enterococcus faecium s6 strain exhibited homoferementative lactic acid (LA) production at high xylose concentration (≥50 g/L). In batch fermentation at 45 °C and controlled pH of 6.5, strain E.

Immunomodulatory Effects of Xylooligosaccharides

open access: yesFood Science and Technology Research, 2012
Xylooligosaccharides (XOs) are considered as food ingredients, and exhibit the prebiotic effects related to gut modulation. However, no related research is available to explain their immunomodulatory effects. This report elucidated their immunomodulatory effects through the variations of proinflammatory mediators in vitro. We found that XOs (0.1-100 mu

Enzymatic Cocktail Formulation for Xylan Hydrolysis into Xylose and Xylooligosaccharides

open access: yes, 2023
In the context of a biorefinery, lignocellulosic materials represent an important source of raw material for the bioconversion of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin into value-added products, such as xylose for fermentation, oligosaccharides, and ...

Properties and production of xylooligosaccharide.

open access: yesJournal of the Japanese Society of Starch Science, 1990
Properties and production of xylooligosaccharide with a bioreactor were studied. Substrate (xylan) was packed in a reactor. And buffer with an amount of enzyme was passed through the reactor. Enzyme absorbed to xylan hydrolyzed xylan to form xylooligosaccharide. Xylooligosaccharide was eluted earlier than the enzyme from the reactor.
