Synthesis of a novel 89Zr-labeled HER2 affibody and its application study in tumor PET imaging

open access: yesEJNMMI Research, 2020
Background Human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) is an essential biomarker for tumor treatment. Affibody is an ideal vector for preparing HER2 specific probes because of high affinity and rapid clearance from normal tissues, etc.

Zirconium-89 labeled antibodies: a new tool for molecular imaging in cancer patients. [PDF]

open access: yesBiomed Res Int, 2014
Antibody based positron emission tomography (immuno-PET) imaging is of increasing importance to visualize and characterize tumor lesions. Additionally, it can be used to identify patients who may benefit from a particular therapy and monitor the therapy outcome.

Optimum radioactivity yield of Zirconium-89 radionuclide applicable for radioimmuno-PET imaging

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2023
Abstract Since Zirconium-89 (89Zr or Zr-89) decays by emitting positron with a half-life of 78.4 hours, it has been suggested as a diagnostic radioisotope for cancer. Normally, Zirconium-89 is generated by irradiating an enriched yttrium-89 (89Y or Y-89) target with protons via 89Y(p,n)89Zr nuclear reaction.

From Clinic to Computation: Multiscale Bioengineering Strategies for Durable Biological Aortic Valve Replacements

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioprosthetic aortic valves have revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis, but their durability is limited by structural valve deterioration (SVD). This review focuses on the pericardial tissue at the heart of these valves, examining how its mechanical properties and calcification drive fatigue and failure.

Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease by NIRF Spectroscopy and Nuclear Medicine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
There is an urgent need for the early detection of diseases such as Alzheimer’s (AD) and Cancers in order to enable their successful treatment. Cancer is the second major cause of death after Heart Disease, and AD is the third major cause of death

Metal–Organic Frameworks for Gaseous Pollutant Management: From Capture to Neutralization and Reutilization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review maps how MOFs can manage hazardous gases by combining adsorption, neutralization, and reutilization, enabling sustainable air‐pollution control. Covering chemical warfare agent simulants, SO2, NOx, NH3, H2S, and volatile organic compounds, it highlights structure‐guided strategies that boost selectivity, water tolerance, and cycling ...

Automated synthesis of [89Zr]ZrCl4, [89Zr]ZrDFOSquaramide-bisPh(PSMA) and [89Zr]ZrDFOSquaramide-TATE

open access: yesEJNMMI Radiopharmacy and Chemistry
Background Automated [89Zr]Zr-radiolabeling processes have the potential to streamline the production of [89Zr]Zr-labelled PET imaging agents. Most radiolabeling protocols use [89Zr][Zr(ox)4]4− as the starting material and oxalate is removed after ...

89Zr-Labeled AR20.5: A MUC1-Targeting ImmunoPET Probe

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
High expression levels of the tumor-associated antigen MUC1 have been correlated with tumor aggressiveness, poor response to therapy, and poor survival in several tumor types, including breast, pancreatic, and epithelial ovarian cancer. Herein, we report
