From Heteroaromatic acids and Imines to Azaspirocycles : Stereoselective Synthesis and 3D Shape Analysis [PDF]
Heteroaromatic carboxylic acids have been directly coupled with imines using T3P and NEt(i-Pr)2 to form azaspirocycles via intermediate N-acyliminium ions.

2‐Aryl(alkyl)benzimidazole hydroxamic acids (11‐16) are potent and selective HDAC6 inhibitors, with minimal activity against HDAC1/2, and also display anti‐angiogenic and anticancer activities. Compound 13 exhibited a GI50 of 3.9 μM against EPCs and inhibited the growth of HCT‐116, SK‐Hep‐1, and PC‐3 cells with GI50 values of 1.3, 4.2, and 7.5 μM ...

A Novel Approach to Highly Substituted β‐Carbolines via Reductive Ring Transformation of 2‐Acyl‐3‐isoxazolylindoles [PDF]
We have worked out a new approach to 1,3,4‐trisubstituted β‐carbolines of pharmaceutical interest. As central building blocks we used 2‐acylindoles, which are readily available from indole‐2‐Weinreb amides.

Wherefore the Magic? The Evolutionary Role of Psilocybin in Nature
This study explores the evolutionary role of psilocybin, the psychedelic compound found in Psilocybe mushrooms. We provide the first experimental tests of defence and community‐level evidence for invertebrate responses to psilocybin‐producing fungi, revealing significant negative effects on invertebrate locomotion, development, and survival.

Da Yuan Yin Regulates Gut Microbiota and Improves Intestinal Injury in Sepsis
Sepsis mouse model was induced by LPS to investigate the effect of Da Yuan Yin (DYY) in vivo. Hematoxylin–eosin staining showed that DYY could reduce intestinal injury caused by sepsis. In addition, DYY can also inhibit inflammation, apoptosis, and promote cell proliferation in sepsis, and promote the expression of tight junction proteins.

Development of a Bioactive Food Additive for Controlling of Fungal Growth [PDF]
Fresh foods have a great importance in human nutrition. However, they are marketed with greatly reduced shelf life mainly due to fungal spoilage. In this work, cell wall degrading enzymes produced by Trichoderma asperellum T00 (TCWDE) were immobilized ...
