Cigarette smoke accelerates the aging of immune cells in the lung. By combining human single‐cell sequencing, cell culture, and mouse models, the authors show that the protein GEM drives mitochondrial damage and senescence in alveolar macrophages by suppressing SIRT3.

ABSTRACT While targeted therapies have improved outcomes in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), many patients still lack targetable mutations. Here, we identified alpha‐L‐fucosidase 2 (FUCA2) as a crucial driver of LUAD by preventing cellular senescence. Mechanistically, through the restriction of fucosyltransferase 3 (FUT3)‐mediated α‐1,3‐fucosylation of ...

Improvements in enzymatic preparation of alkyl glycosides
Three glycosides of middle chain aliphatic alcohols (hexanol and heptanol) were prepared by enzymatic glycosidation. The preparation of hexyl β-D-glucopyranoside was achieved in moderate yields via reverse hydrolysis catalysed by defatted meals from ...

An adhesive hydrogel depot with polyphenol‐armored nanogenes is developed for treating aged osteoarthritis. This system maintains miR‐140 bioactivity, prolongs its intra‐articular retention, and enhances transfection into chondrocytes, leading to the downregulation of senescence‐associated pathways.

Arabinogalactan (AG) has been studied as a potential prebiotic in view of stimulating bifidobacteria presence in the gut microbiota. However, bifidobacteria prefer fermentation of oligosaccharides to that of polysaccharides. The contribution of other gut

This study presents an ultrasound‐responsive nanoplatform, CS‐BT@MZ@NEs, with a BaTiO3/Mn‐Zif‐8 core and a chondroitin sulfate coating for Golgi targeting. By leveraging neutrophil hitchhiking, it enables targeted delivery to infection sites. Under ultrasound stimulation, CS‐BT@MZ@NEs generates ROS and modulates Golgi pH to activate cGAS–STING ...

Highly Efficient and Sustainable Synthesis of Neoglycoproteins Using Galactosidases [PDF]
Oligosaccharides are a key component on glycoconjugates with biomedical applications. However, the investigation of more efficient and environmental protocols for their preparation carrying defined oligosaccharides remains a big challenge due to lack of ...
