Studies on the Biosynthesis of γ–Decalactone in Sporobolomyces odorus [PDF]
Incubation of racemic ethyl [2,2-2H2]-(E)-3,4-epoxydecanoate and the corresponding acid with intact cells of Sporobolomyces odorus led to the formation of deuterium labeled γ-decalaetone.

Health promoting properties of bee royal jelly: Food of the queens [PDF]
Royal jelly (RJ) demand is growing every year and so is the market for functional foods in general. RJ is formed by different substances, mainly carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids, but also vitamins, minerals, and phenolic or volatile compounds in lower

Economic analysis of royalactin production under uncertainty: Evaluating the effect of parameter optimization. [PDF]
Royalactin is a protein with several different potential uses in humans. Research, in insects and in mammalian cells, has shown that it can accelerate cell division and prevent apoptosis.

Rapid evolution of chemosensory receptor genes in a pair of sibling species of orchid bees (Apidae: Euglossini). [PDF]
BackgroundInsects rely more on chemical signals (semiochemicals) than on any other sensory modality to find, identify, and choose mates. In most insects, pheromone production is typically regulated through biosynthetic pathways, whereas pheromone sensory

Fermented Royal Jelly Enriched With 10-Hydroxydecanoic Acid and Its Potential for Enhancing Mucosal Immunity. [PDF]
We isolated the Lactobacillus panisapium strain M1 from queen bee digestive tracts, capable of converting 10‐hydroxy‐2‐decenoic acid (10H2DA) in RJ to 10‐hydroxydecanoic acid (10HDAA). Through cultivation in protease‐treated RJ broth, we successfully produced fermented RJ (fRJ) containing significantly elevated 10HDAA levels compared to traditional RJ.
