Estradiol suppresses tissue androgens and prostate cancer growth in castration resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2010
Background Estrogens suppress tumor growth in prostate cancer which progresses despite anorchid serum androgen levels, termed castration resistant prostate cancers (CRPC), although the mechanisms are unclear. We hypothesize that estrogen inhibits CRPC in

Synthese und aktivitätsbasierte Proteinprofilierung identifizieren die Aldo‐Keto‐Reduktase 1C3 als Zielprotein der Myxoglucamide

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

UV-photolysis of 17β-estradiol in aqueous solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Farmaceutici po svojoj prirodi više ili manje utječu na prirodno funkcioniranje ljudskog i životinjskog organizma, a njihova sve učestalija pojava u otpadnim vodama predstavlja potencijalnu prijetnju ljudskom i životinjskom zdravlju. Ženski spolni hormon

Synthesis and Activity‐Based Protein Profiling Identifies Aldo‐Keto Reductase 1C3 as Target Protein of Myxoglucamides

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Myxoglucamide A—a novel glycolipopeptide isolated from myxobacteria—was synthesized, and activity‐based protein profiling identified aldo‐keto reductase 1C3 (AKR1C3) as its main target in human cells. Structure‐activity relationship studies, together with biophysical characterization and X‐ray crystallography, elucidated the structural basis of AKR1C3 ...

Rapid and Reusable Amino Acid–Derived MOFs for the Removal of Estrogenic Hormones From Real Water Matrices

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A family of amino‐acid–derived MOFs enables ultrafast (>90–95% in 30 s) simultaneous removal of four estrogenic contaminants from water under SPE conditions. A leucine‐based MOF shows excellent regenerability and robustness in real samples, with structural evidence revealing efficient hormone encapsulation.

Preparation of photonic-magnetic responsive molecularly imprinted microspheres and their application to fast and selective extraction of 17β-estradiol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Photonic-magnetic responsive molecularly imprinted microspheres (PM-MIMs) were prepared by seed polymerization, through suitable functionalization of magnetic nanoparticles for further coating with photoresponsive functional monomer and imprinted layers,

Estradiol-17β receptors in cytosolic fraction of chondrosarcoma

open access: yes, 2020
Estradiol-17β receptors were detected in the cytosolic fraction of the majority of bone chondrosarcomas by protamine sulfate sedimentation of the hormone-receptor complex.

Commonalities of platelet dysfunction in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and underlying comorbidities

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1013-1028, April 2025.
Abstract Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is characterized by a lack of a specific targeted treatment and a complex, partially unexplored pathophysiology. Common comorbidities associated with HFpEF are hypertension, atrial fibrillation, obesity and diabetes.

Presence of 17β estradiol in ocular cells.

open access: yes, 2012
Confocal images are shown for HTM (Panel A), RPE (Panel B) and HEK 293 (Panel C) cells using anti-17β estradiol antibody and counterstained with FITC labeled secondary antibody. DAPI was used to stain the nucleus. In each panel control cells were treated
