Cerium Nanoparticle‐Mediated Inhibition of the NSUN2/m5C Axis Suppresses Synovial Aggression in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel epitranscriptomic mechanism in rheumatoid arthritis is uncovered: NSUN2 promotes disease via m5C‐dependent stabilization of ICMT mRNA, fueling the migration and invasion of pathogenic RA FLS. Targeting this axis with engineered nanoparticles (Ce/SAA NPs) effectively inhibits disease progression, presenting a precise therapeutic strategy ...

8‐Oxoguanine Modified CircMTUS1 Drives PABPC1 Phase Separation to Promote Gastric Cancer Progression and Cisplatin Resistance via Autophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gastric cancer (GC) is a major global health concern, as its prevention and treatment remain significant challenges. The 8‐oxoguanine (o8G) modification of circRNAs, alongside their capacity to orchestrate liquid‐liquid phase separation (LLPS) and autophagy, plays a pivotal role in driving tumor progression and determining therapeutic outcomes.

MiR‐146a‐5p Suppresses M1 Polarization of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages via IRAK1/NF‐κB Signaling in Colorectal Polyps

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
MiR‐146a‐5p is downregulated in colorectal polyps, leading to IRAK1 upregulation and NF‐κB activation, which promotes M1 macrophage polarization and inflammation. Overexpression of miR‐146a‐5p suppresses IRAK1/NF‐κB signaling, reduces M1 polarization, and alleviates inflammatory responses.

Clinical, Behavioral and Neuroradiological Phenotype in an Italian Cohort of Patients With Xia Gibbs Syndrome: A Multicenter Cross‐Sectional Study and Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Heterozygous variants in the AHDC1 gene are associated with Xia Gibbs Syndrome (XGS), a genetic disorder with a highly variable phenotype. Cognitive impairment, motor delay, language delay, neonatal hypotonia, and sleep apnea are considered “cardinal” signs of the disease.

Untranslated regions and the regulation of transcript specific translation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Proteins are considered the “workhorses” of the cell and they are produced according tothe central dogma of biology. The general rule is that the genetic information hard-wired intoDNA is transcribed into a messenger RNA (mRNA) molecule which contains ...

Psychiatric and Cognitive Features in Italian Women With the FMR1 Premutation: A Comprehensive Assessment Using SCID‐5 and Standardized Cognitive Measures

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Women with the FMR1 premutation (PM) are at increased risk for fragile X‐associated conditions (FXPAC), including cognitive and psychiatric features collectively termed fragile X‐associated neuropsychiatric disorders (FXAND). This study is the first to systematically investigate cognitive and psychiatric features in Italian female premutation ...

Interaction of FXTAS Family History and College Degree Attainment Predicts Trajectories of Cognitive and Motor Symptoms in FMR1 Premutation Carrier Women

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present longitudinal study focuses on FMR1 premutation carrier women during midlife and early old age (n = 115). Bringing together the genetic risk factor of a family history of FXTAS and the environmental protective factor of higher education, the goal of the study was to determine how these factors potentially interact to predict self ...

Mutation Analysis of cis-Elements in the 3′- and 5′-Untranslated Regions of Satellite Tobacco Necrosis Virus Strain C RNA

open access: yes, 1999
The putative, 3′-terminal stem-loop structure in satellite tobacco necrosis virus strain C (STNV-C) RNA constitutes an essential cis-acting structure for the promotion of negative-strand RNA synthesis and a single-stranded tail is also important.

A hepatitis C virus cis-acting replication element forms a long-range RNA-RNA interaction with upstream RNA sequences in NS5B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The genome of hepatitis C virus (HCV) contains cis-acting replication elements (CREs) comprised of RNA stem-loop structures located in both the 5' and 3' non-coding regions (NCR), and in the NS5B coding sequence.
