A guide to the types, structures, and multifaceted functions of matrix metalloproteinases in cancer

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) orchestrate cancer progression and metastasis through proteolytic and non‐proteolytic actions. By remodeling the tumor microenvironment, enhancing growth factor availability, and modulating cell behavior, MMPs promote proliferation, migration or invasion, and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition. Alongside extracellular

Axon Initial Segment: Structure, Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
The axon initial segment (AIS) is a specialized axonal domain critical for maintaining neuronal polarity, action potential initiation, and network stability. This review summarizes the necessary elements for maintaining AIS structure and plasticity, discussing crucial biological functions of AIS in neuronal signaling and the neural circuit homeostasis,

A Novel Dysferlin‐Binding Kinase CK2α Promotes Plasma Membrane Repair in Dysferlinopathy

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 6, 31 March 2026.
When the cell membrane is injured, extracellular calcium enters the cell, triggering the accumulation of dysferlin at the lesion site. In the presence of dysferlin, CK2 is efficiently recruited to the damaged membrane and maintains its kinase activity through interaction with dysferlin.

Post‐Translational Modifications in Animal Circadian Clocks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
Circadian clocks coordinate physiology with daily environmental cycles through conserved transcriptional–translational feedback loops. This review summarizes how post‐translational modifications fine‐tune clock function, highlights the evolutionary convergence of circadian timekeeping in Drosophila and mammals, and emphasizes the central of these ...

The Role of Food Structure on Fatty Acid Bioaccessibility: A Decade of TIM‐1 Simulated Digestion Studies in Review

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 6, 29 March 2026.
Lipid and food structure determine when and how macro‐ and micronutrients become bioaccessible. This review compares lipid bioaccessibility from engineered emulsions, breast milk, infant formula, and meat and meat mimics, which couples the effect of cooking temperature on lipid bioaccessibility in meat and eggs. ABSTRACT Food structure has emerged as a

Molecular Glue Degraders Redefining Targeted Therapies From Discovery to Therapeutic Applications

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Molecular glue degraders (MGDs) constitute an emerging class of therapeutic agents poised to revolutionize the paradigm of targeted drug discovery. By reprogramming E3 ubiquitin ligases to degrade proteins of interest (POI) via a transient formation of a ternary complex mediated by protein–protein interactions, MGDs surpass the intrinsic limitations of

Detection and Validation of A2 Milk Suitable for Consumers Having Milk Intolerance by ELISA Method

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Research in Natural and Applied Sciences, 2023
Casein proteins, which make up 80% of the total proteins in cow's milk, consist of mainly A1 and A2 genetic types which differ by a mutation that causes conversion from proline to histidine.

Waning light, waxing pain: The lunar cycle's association with migraine headache occurrence

open access: yesHeadache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, Volume 66, Issue 3, Page 584-594, March 2026.
Plain Language Summary While migraine headaches can be hard to predict, some patients believe headaches are connected to the moon‘s phases. Our research showed that migraine attacks were 34% more likely to occur during the new moon than during the full moon.
