A flexible electrochemical sensor platform can enable continuous, real‐time monitoring of salivary glucose for applications confined to spaces such as the oral cavity. Surface modifications with Prussian blue, chitosan, and zwitterionic polymers enhance sensitivity, selectivity, and antiadherent performance.

Acetic Acid, the Active Component of Vinegar, Is an Effective Tuberculocidal Disinfectant
Effective and economical mycobactericidal disinfectants are needed to kill both Mycobacterium tuberculosis and non-M. tuberculosis mycobacteria. We found that acetic acid (vinegar) efficiently kills M. tuberculosis after 30 min of exposure to a 6% acetic

Sialic Acid Sensing via Molecularly Imprinted Polymer on Laser‐Induced Graphene
Sialic acid is an important biomarker for oral and overall health. Salivary levels of sialic acid are linked with oral cancer and other diseases. We develop a point‐of‐care sensor for sialic acid, based on molecularly imprinted aminophenylboronic acid electropolymerized onto laser‐induced graphene.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease characterized by joint inflammation. Approximately 50% of patients show insufficient response to traditional synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs. This study aims to elucidate differential molecular profiles of the mechanisms underlying drug responses through multi‐omics strategy.

Epstein‐Barr Virus Expressed Long Non‐Coding RNA (lncBARTs) Regulate EBV Latent Genome Replication
EBV produces abundant level of lncBARTs, which are essential for maintaining viral genome replication in EBV‐associated cancers. LncBARTs interact with a complex comprising BRD4, CTCF and viral protein EBNA1 at EBV oriP region. This interaction tethers oriP to host chromosomes, facilitating EBV episome replication.

This study finds that the interaction between ABA‐OsCIPK2‐OsSWEET1A reduces the allocation of methane producing bacteria carbon source (acetic acid) content to the rhizosphere soil of ratoon season rice, thereby reducing methane emissions. Abstract Rice paddies are a major, persistent source of atmospheric methane (CH4), emission rates depend on the ...

Biotechnologically relevant features of gluconic acid production by acetic acid bacteria
The many uses of gluconic acid and some of its salts are arousing increasing interest in these compounds and in their production levels. Although gluconic acid and gluconates can be obtained chemically, they are currently almost exclusively ...
