Acriflavine-binding Capacity Controlled by the acrA Gene of Escherichia coli [PDF]
The acrA mutation in Escherichia coli led to a substantial increase of the acriflavine-binding capacity of the cell, whereas the related mutations acrB (gyrB) and arcC did not. Metal ions such as Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and Al3+ effectively released the bound acriflavine, in proportion to their ionic strengths.

AcrAB-TolC is a resistance nodulation division type of efflux pump present in Enterobacteriaceae. It non-specifically effluxes antibiotics out of the bacterial cell, thus conferring drug resistance.

Controlled Delivery and Light‐Induced Release of Magic Spot Nucleotides in Escherichia coli
We synthesized photocaged, clickable and isotope‐labeled “magic spot” Nucleotides and delivered them into Escherichia coli comparing different approaches. Light‐controlled release inside living cells enabled tracking of their conversion from pppGpp to ppGpp by capillary electrophoresis mass spectrometry and revealed their impact on the growth rate of a

AcrA dependency of the AcrD efflux pump in Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium [PDF]
Multidrug efflux pumps belonging to the resistance-nodulation cell division (RND) family have major roles in the intrinsic and elevated resistance of Gram-negative bacteria to a wide range of compounds. RND efflux pumps require two other proteins to function: a membrane fusion protein (MFP) and an outer membrane protein.

Extremity Function After Transfemoral Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: A TAVI XS Sub‐Study
ABSTRACT Background Physical decline after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is associated with worse outcomes. However, data on post‐TAVI extremity function are limited. This sub‐study of the TAVI XS trial aimed to assess extremity function after transfemoral TAVI, evaluate functional decline, compare outcomes between upper‐and lower ...
