Efflux Pump Gene Expression in Erwinia chrysanthemi Is Induced by Exposure to Phenolic Acids
Salicylic acid (SA) is an important signaling molecule in local and systemic plant resistance. Following infection by microbial pathogens and the initial oxidative burst in plants, SA accumulation functions in the amplification of defense gene expression.

Contributions of mutations in acrR and marR genes to organic solvent tolerance in Escherichia coli [PDF]
The AcrAB-TolC efflux pump is involved in maintaining intrinsic organic solvent tolerance in Escherichia coli. Mutations in regulatory genes such as marR, soxR, and acrR are known to increase the expression level of the AcrAB-TolC pump. To identify these

Determining the strength of 3D printed concrete with the modified slant shear test
Abstract This study deals with the assessment of the load‐bearing capacity of layered 3D printed concrete (3DPC) using a modified slant shear test (MSST) to define a Mohr's envelope. To this aim, the established modified Coulomb yield condition of the concrete is complemented by a Coulomb failure criterion of the layer joints (cold or dry joints).

This review highlights computational approaches for discovering antimicrobials against carbapenem‐resistant Enterobacterales. It outlines methods like pharmacophore modeling, molecular docking, and absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion–toxicity (ADMET) analysis, integrated with in vitro assays, to identify and validate potential drugs ...

On the theory of the ceramic densification process an of recrystallization in colloidal solutions [PDF]
In a short survey the analogy between the theories on diffusion in solids and in solutions is shown. As a result, analogous theories are developed for the ceramic sintering process and the recrystallization in colloidal solutions.

The antibiotic susceptibility of Escherichia coli isolates isolated from faeces and soil samples collected from farms in three districts where livestock farming activities are intensively carried out via phenotypic and genotypic methods and the presence of extended‐spectrum beta‐lactamases (ESBLs) via a double‐disc synergy test. Only one E. coli strain

Fibroblast growth factor 23 predicts incident diabetic kidney disease: A 4.6‐year prospective study
Abstract Aims Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 23 is a bone‐derived phosphaturic hormone that participates in the regulation of mineral metabolism and the development of chronic kidney disease. This study aimed to investigate the association between FGF23 and diabetic kidney disease (DKD) in a community‐based prospective cohort.
