Circadian rhythms of metabolite abundance in Drosophila are largely driven by time of feeding

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Circadian clocks exist in the brain and peripheral tissues such as the Drosophila fat body. Single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveal that the fat body clock generates time‐of‐day differences in metabolic gene transcription, which may also be indirectly controlled by brain clocks.

Cyclin‐dependent kinase 13 is indispensable for normal mouse heart development

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 246, Issue 4, Page 616-630, April 2025.
Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common defect in live births. The role of cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK13) in cardiogenesis and CHD was studied using a transgenic mouse model (Cdk13tm1b) carrying deletion of exons 3 and 4, causing loss of function.

Degrees of Sulfonation: Mapping the Reactivity Landscape of Acridine and Acridone

open access: yesOrganics
Although sulfonated acridines and acridones are valuable scaffolds in diagnostics and materials science, to our best knowledge, there is no comprehensive study that addresses how the degree of sulfonation depends on reaction parameters. To fill this gap,

Interaction of Bioactive Pyrazolo[4,3-a]acridines with Human Serum Albumin [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2017
Several heterocyclic bioactive fluorescent 3-alkyl-3H-pyrazolo[4,3-a]acridin-11-carbonitriles were conveniently synthesized from the reaction of 1-alkyl-1H-indazoles with different aryl acetonitrile in basic methanol solution in good yields.

Photoprotective potential of gadusol against ultraviolet B radiation in melanocytes

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Gadusol protects melanocytes from ultraviolet B (UVB)‐induced damage without cytotoxicity. Abstract The increasing incidence of skin cancer, including melanoma, combined with the need for ultraviolet (UV) filters that are safe for human health and marine ecosystems, is driving the search for new photoprotective agents.

Synthesis of azepane-acridine heterocyclic adducts assisted by the catalytic influence of γ-Fe2O3@TiO2-Vitamin B1 and evaluation of their medicinal potential through in vitro antimicrobial, QSAR, and molecular docking studies

open access: yesResults in Chemistry
Present work elicits synthesis of novel azepane-acridines, assisted by titania-encapsulated γFe2O3 nanoparticles supported on Vitamin B1 (γFe2O3@TiO2-Vitamin B1) as a new magnetically recyclable heterogeneous nano-catalytic system.

Zebrafish as a practical and convenient model for the study of photodynamic and photothermal therapy of solid tumors: A scoping review

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Zebrafish provide a high‐throughput, optically transparent platform for cancer and drug screening. Their ~80% genetic homology, xenograft compatibility, and transgenic strains enable targeted photosensitizer screening, real‐time ROS and tumor imaging, and mechanistic assays, while fish embryo acute toxicity (FET) and in vitro tests streamline toxicity ...
