Roles of binding elements, FOXL2 domains, and interactions with cJUN and SMADs in regulation of FSHβ. [PDF]
We previously identified FOXL2 as a critical component in FSHβ gene transcription. Here, we show that mice deficient in FOXL2 have lower levels of gonadotropin gene expression and fewer LH- and FSH-containing cells, but the same level of other pituitary ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Activin A-Induced HepG2 Liver Cell Apoptosis: Involvement of Activin Receptors and Smad Proteins* [PDF]
AbstractA balance between cell proliferation and apoptosis is important for regulating normal liver function. Proteins of the transforming growth factor-β superfamily are known to be important mediators of apoptosis in the liver. In this study we demonstrate that activin A potently induces apoptotic cell death in a hepatoma cell line, HepG2 cells.

This research deciphers the m6A transcriptome by profiling its sites and functional readout effects: from mRNA stability, translation to alternative splicing, across five different cell types. Machine learning model identifies novel m6A‐binding proteins DDX6 and FXR2 and novel m6A reader proteins FUBP3 and L1TD1.

Multi-Cancer Computational Analysis Reveals Metastasis-Associated Variant of Desmoplastic Reaction Involving INHBA and THBS2 [PDF]
Despite extensive research, the details of the metastasis-associated biological mechanisms are largely unknown. Here, we analyze data from multiple cancers using a novel computational method identifying sets of genes whose coordinated overexpression ...
