Gender‐Conscious Language in Easy‐to‐Read German and L2 German Classrooms: Insights From a Case Study on Epicenes

open access: yesDie Unterrichtspraxis/Teaching German, Volume 58, Issue 2, Page 266-276, Fall 2025.
ABSTRACT Language should be inclusive. This implies that it should be accessible for as many people as possible. The concept of easy‐to‐read language (Leichte Sprache, LS) developed for this purpose and primarily for people with learning difficulties is beneficial for L2 learners of German as well.

Engineering and comparison of cas12a‐based genome editing systems in plants

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 123, Issue 5, September 2025.
SUMMARY While Cas9 and Cas12a are both RNA‐guided endonucleases used for genome editing, only Cas12a is able to process pre‐crRNA via its additional ribonuclease activity. This feature reduces the complexity of Cas12a versus Cas9‐based genome editing systems thus providing an attractive alternative for generating site‐specific mutations in plants. Here

Wie können Diagnosefähigkeiten der Aufgabeneinschätzung gefördert werden?

open access: yesHerausforderung Lehrer*innenbildung

Comparing school leaders' experiences of research use in England, Scotland and Germany

open access: yesReview of Education, Volume 13, Issue 1, April 2025.
Abstract In some countries it is common for policy makers to advocate research use by practitioners as a means to bring about school development. Yet, despite their increasing sophistication, the enactment of protocols for using research is problematic and, even in optimal environments, practitioners have difficulty mobilising research findings to ...

General and special education teachers' attitudes towards evidence‐based practice

open access: yesJournal of Research in Special Educational Needs, Volume 25, Issue 2, Page 323-340, April 2025.
Abstract In the context of special and inclusive education, applying evidence‐based practice (EBP) is important for providing equal access to effective and efficient education for students, regardless of their ability status. However, there is a relevant research‐practice gap in this area.

The Plausibility of Klafki's Model of Exemplary Teaching

open access: yesEducational Theory, Volume 75, Issue 1, Page 81-106, February 2025.
Abstract In this article Antti Moilanen assesses criticisms of Wolfgang Klafki's model of exemplary teaching made by Meinert Meyer and Hilbert Meyer and by Chi‐Hua Chu. “Exemplary teaching” is a style of discovery‐based teaching in which students study concrete examples of general principles in such a way that they acquire transferable knowledge and ...

“You’re Not Allowed to Give Us the Solution, but Can You Guide Us towards It?”

open access: yesPraxisForschungLehrer*innenBildung
In task-based mathematics classes, where several solution approaches may be valid, diagnosing students’ solution processes and adaptively supporting them is a significant challenge for teachers.

A quantitative assay for the efficiency of RNA‐guided genome editing in plants

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 119, Issue 5, Page 2564-2577, September 2024.
SUMMARY RNA‐guided endonucleases originating from the bacterial CRISPR/Cas system are a versatile tool for targeted gene editing. To determine the functional relevance of a gene of interest, deletion of the entire open reading frame (ORF) by two independent double‐strand breaks (DSBs) is particularly attractive. This strategy greatly benefits from high
