Impact of Host and Food Availability on Life‐History Traits in Six Egg Parasitoid Species of the Genus Trichogramma

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 8, Page 887-895, August 2026.
In this study we measured the impact of access to sugar and hosts on the longevity and fecundity of six Trichogramma species: T. cacoeciae, T. chilonis, T. minutum, T. leptoparameron, T. pintoi and T. sibericum. The impact of food differed among species, but there was a general tendency of increased life expectancy and potential fecundity with sugar ...

Untangling Mephedrone‐Induced Social Reward in Rats—The Involvement of Oxytocin and Vasopressin V1A Receptors

open access: yesGenes, Brain and Behavior, Volume 25, Issue 4, August 2026.
Social context alters the neurochemical and neuropeptidergic mechanisms of mephedrone reward, revealing a dual regulation by monoamines and oxytocin/vasopressin signaling in brain regions critical for reinforcement. ABSTRACT The rewarding effects of psychostimulants are strongly influenced by social context, yet the underlying neurochemical and ...

Physicochemical and Sensory Properties of Phyllo Pastry: Effects of Steam‐Assisted Baking and Vegetable Oils

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 49, Issue 8, August 2026.
Steam‐assisted baking (115°C, 60% RH) improved moisture retention and reduced weight loss in hand‐stretched phyllo pastry. Among the vegetable oils evaluated, canola oil provided a balanced physicochemical and sensory performance, supporting its potential use in healthier traditional bakery products.

Application of Comet Hop Essential Oil for Aroma Enhancement in American IPA Beer: Physicochemical, Sensory, and Consumer Acceptance Impacts

open access: yesJournal of Sensory Studies, Volume 41, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Hops provide bitterness and aroma to beer; however, combining these attributes is challenging because they require different processing conditions. This study investigated the use of Comet hop essential oil as an aroma‐enhancing agent in American IPA craft beer by evaluating its effects on physicochemical and sensory characteristics, as well ...
