Affine and degenerate affine BMW algebras: The center [PDF]

open access: yesOsaka Journal of Mathematics, 2011
The degenerate affine and affine BMW algebras arise naturally in the context of Schur-Weyl duality for orthogonal and symplectic Lie algebras and quantum groups, respectively. Cyclotomic BMW algebras, affine Hecke algebras, cyclotomic Hecke algebras, and their degenerate versions are quotients.

Fontenelle et la chimie : la recherche d’une « loi fondamentale » pour la chimie

open access: yesMethodos, 2012
In this paper, my aim is to reexamine Fontenelle’s position as to chemistry. Before he became the Secretary of the Académie Royale des Sciences of Paris, Fontenelle knew chemistry quite badly and he ridiculed it in his personal works; but as the ...

Algebraic monoids with affine unit group are affine [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
In this short note we prove that any irreducible algebraic monoid whose unit group is an affine algebraic group is affine.

Representations of Affine Multifunctions by Affine Selections [PDF]

open access: yesSet-Valued Analysis, 2008
The paper deals with affine selections of affine (both convex and concave) multifunctions acting between finite-dimensional real normed spaces. It is proved that each affine multifunction with compact values possesses an exhaustive family of affine selections and, consequently, can be represented by its affine selections.

Affinely regular polygons in an affine plane

open access: yesContributions to Discrete Mathematics, 2008
In this paper we survey results about affinely regular polygons. First, the definitions and classification of affinely regular polygons are given. Then the theory of Bachmann-Schmidt is outlined. There are several classical theorems about regular polygons, some of them having analogues in finite planes, such as the Napoleon-Barlotti theorem.

Antibody Fragments and Their Purification by Protein L Affinity Chromatography

open access: yesAntibodies, 2015
Antibodies and related proteins comprise one of the largest and fastest-growing classes of protein pharmaceuticals. A majority of such molecules are monoclonal antibodies; however, many new entities are antibody fragments.
