Phage Display’s Prospects for Early Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer

open access: yesViruses
Prostate cancer (PC) is the second most diagnosed cancer among men. It was observed that early diagnosis of disease is highly beneficial for the survival of cancer patients.

Optimality of mutation and selection in germinal centers. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2010
The population dynamics theory of B cells in a typical germinal center could play an important role in revealing how affinity maturation is achieved. However, the existing models encountered some conflicts with experiments. To resolve these conflicts, we

Pepitope: epitope mapping from affinity-selected peptides [PDF]

open access: yesBioinformatics, 2007
AbstractIdentifying the epitope to which an antibody binds is central for many immunological applications such as drug design and vaccine development. The Pepitope server is a web-based tool that aims at predicting discontinuous epitopes based on a set of peptides that were affinity-selected against a monoclonal antibody of interest.

Epitope mapping using mRNA display and a unidirectional nested deletion library [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In vitro selection targeting an anti-polyhistidine monoclonal antibody was performed using mRNA display with a random, unconstrained 27-mer peptide library.

Long-Lived Plasma Cells Secrete High-Affinity Antibodies Responding to a T-Dependent Immunization in a Teleost Fish

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
The recent discovery of long-lived plasma cells (LLPCs) in mammals, which provide a constant expression of specific high-affinity antibodies that mediate humoral memory, has caused a dramatic paradigm shift in the study of immunity and vaccine ...

Aptamer selection by high-throughput sequencing and informatic analysis

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2011
Traditional methods for selecting aptamers require multiple rounds of selection and optimization in order to identify aptamers that bind with high affinity to their targets.

Selected DNA aptamers as hydroxyapatite affinity reagents

open access: yesAnalytica Chimica Acta, 2020
DNA aptamers were selected for their ability to bind specifically and quickly to crystalline hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2; HAP), the primary mineral component of enamel and bone. Aptamers were found to have an enhanced percent of G-nucleotides and a propensity for forming a G-quadruplex secondary structure.

Hierarchy and assortativity as new tools for affinity investigation: the case of the TBA aptamer-ligand complex

open access: yes, 2017
Aptamers are single stranded DNA, RNA or peptide sequences having the ability to bind a variety of specific targets (proteins, molecules as well as ions).

In vivo analysis of CRISPR-edited germinal center murine B cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
The germinal center (GC) reaction is crucial for somatic hypermutation, affinity maturation, and the selection of high-affinity B cells, all of which are hallmarks of the humoral immune response.
