Fexofenadine Overcomes Osimertinib Resistance by Inhibiting c‐Met in Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 4, Issue 2, June 2025.
Fexofenadine was identified as a new Met inhibitory drug by a computational drug repurposing tool called “DRAR‐CPI” via chemical‐protein interactome analysis of known Met inhibitors. It was shown to overcome osimertinib resistance in non‐small cell lung cancer by inhibiting Met in vitro and in vivo.

The Efficacy and Safety of Canagliflozin by Frailty Status in Participants of the CANVAS and CREDENCE Trials

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, Volume 73, Issue 6, Page 1787-1796, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Sodium‐glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors have been shown to improve renal and cardiovascular outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes. Limited evidence exists about the efficacy and safety of SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with frailty. Methods This was a post hoc pooled, participant‐level data analysis of the CANVAS Program

Harnessing Jasminum Bioactive Compounds: Updated Insights for Therapeutic and Food Preservation Innovations

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 6, Issue 3, Page 1093-1128, May 2025.
Jasminum bioactives improve food preservation by providing antimicrobial and antioxidant effects, especially when incorporated into active packaging, edible films, and nanoformulations that enhance stability and controlled release. They also offer many pharmacological benefits, including anti‐inflammatory, neuroprotective, and wound‐healing properties.

Central Application of Aliskiren, a Renin Inhibitor, Improves Outcome After Experimental Stroke Independent of Its Blood Pressure Lowering Effect

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2019
Epidemiological studies suggest that pharmacological reduction of systemic hypertension lowers incidence and severity of stroke. However, whether the reduction of blood pressure per se or the compounds used to reduce hypertension are responsible for this

Combined renin inhibition/(pro)renin receptor blockade in diabetic retinopathy--a study in transgenic (mREN2)27 rats.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Dysfunction of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) contributes to the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy (DR). Prorenin, the precursor of renin is highly elevated in ocular fluid of diabetic patients with proliferative retinopathy.
