HEMOLYSIS WITH ALLOXAN AND ALLOXAN-LIKE COMPOUNDS, AND THE PROTECTIVE ACTION OF TOCOPHEROL [PDF]
Abstract The production of hemolysis in tocopherol-deficient rats by injection of compounds related to alloxan has been studied. Alloxantin had the same hemolytic action as alloxan; dialuric acid was about twice, ninhydrin about six times as effective as alloxan. Alloxanic acid had no hemolytic action.

A New Vista of Opportunity in Diabetes Management: Natural Product‐Based β‐cell Preservation
Preserving functional β‐cells via natural products offers promising strategy for diabetes treatment. ABSTRACT A defining characteristic of diabetes is β‐cell failure, in which β‐cells cannot modulate insulin secretion to compensate for escalating insulin resistance, pushing forward disease development.
