An Innervated Human Skin Equivalent that Electrically Encodes Mechanical and Thermal Stimuli

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 61, 3 November 2026.
An innervated human skin equivalent is integrated with high‐density microelectrode arrays to reveal how engineered free nerve ending–like structures translate touch and temperature into electrical codes. Mechanical indentation and thermal stimulation engage the engineered somatosensory circuitry and evoke distinct firing and waveform signatures ...

Establishing Sensory Neurons as Therapeutic Targets in Peripheral Neuropathy Driven by Polyglutamine Expanded Murine ATXN3

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 100, Issue 5, Page 1039-1054, November 2026.
Repeat expansion disorders frequently involve peripheral neuropathy, yet mechanisms remain unclear. Using a spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) Knock‐In Atxn3Q300/Q6, we identify progressive sensorimotor deficits, peripheral nerve pathology, and dorsal root ganglia RNA splicing dysregulation.

Nerve Growth Factor is Sufficient to Cause Multiple Osteoarthritis‐Relevant Pathologic Features in Naïve Murine Knee Joints

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 11, Page 2246-2260, November 2026.
Objective Nerve growth factor (NGF), a key mediator of pain, is increased in osteoarthritic (OA) joints. Antibodies against NGF show analgesic effects in painful knee OA, but clinical development was stopped because of side effects in the joints. Knowledge about the biologic effects of NGF on joint tissues is limited. Therefore, we explored the effects

Phytochemical Screening, Pharmacological Evaluation, and Exploratory In Silico Analysis of Emilia sonchifolia Extract and Solvent Fractions

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Emilia sonchifolia (L.) DC. is a medicinal plant used traditionally for the management of several disorders; however, integrated experimental evaluation of its pharmacological properties remains limited. This study evaluated the phytochemical composition and selected biological activities of the methanolic whole‐plant extract of E. sonchifolia

Jing Si Herbal Tea Aqueous Extract Modulates G‐CSF‐Induced Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cells Mobilization and Mitigates Associated Pain in a Murine Model

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Granulocyte colony‐stimulating factor (G‐CSF) is widely used for stem cell mobilization but is associated with side effects such as pain, which often discourages healthy donors. Jing Si Herbal Tea (JSHT), a novel Chinese herbal formula comprising eight different Chinese herbal medicines, has been shown to exert pleiotropic effects against ...

Zdhhc14 promotes pyroptosis in the dorsal root ganglion of oxaliplatin‐induced peripheral neuropathy mice by enhancing GBP5 palmitoylation and suppressing its ubiquitination

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 11, November 2026.
Oxaliplatin‐induced up‐regulation of Zdhhc14 enhances GBP5 stability through palmitoylation‐dependent inhibition of ubiquitin–proteasome degradation, thereby contributing to the development of peripheral neuropathy. Zdhhc14 is identified as a key palmitoyltransferase up‐regulated in oxaliplatin‐induced peripheral neuropathy.

Tendinopathy: Types, Epidemiology, Molecular Mechanisms, and Future Precision‐Oriented Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
This review presents tendinopathy as a heterogeneous disorder driven by dynamic interactions among mechanical sensing, inflammation, angiogenesis and innervation, and extracellular matrix remodeling. Integrating clinical phenotypes with imaging, biomarkers, and multi‐omics may enable molecular subtyping and mechanism‐guided interventions, advancing ...
