The nature of the effector cells mediating mitogen-induced cellular cytotoxicity (MICC) and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC)

Cellular Immunology, 1976
Abstract The nature of the cell types capable of mediating mitogen-induced cellular cytotoxicity (MICC) and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) was investigated utilizing effector cells from athymic nude and euthymic heterozygous control littermate mice as well as Sephadex anti-Fab immunoabsorbent column purified spleen cell populations ...

Inhibition by autologous lymphoid cells of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) to a tumor target

Cellular Immunology, 1980
Abstract Murine lymph node cells (LNC), which we showed previously to noncompetitively inhibit antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) to an erythrocyte target, were tested for their ability to inhibit ADCC to a tumor target, EL-4. Both a 4-hr 51 Cr-release cytotoxicity assay and an overnight 125 IUdR (iododeoxyuridine) postlabeling ...

Antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) in colorectal carcinoma. II. Blood group association

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1983
AbstractColorectal carcinoma patients' sera with ADCC antibody reacting with the HT‐29 cell line (blood group A) generally (88%) cross‐reacted with another group A cell line (COLO‐394) but much less frequently (6–33%), with six tumor cell lines that did not express ABO blood group antigens.

Interferon enhances the antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) of human polymorphonuclear leukocytes.

The Journal of Immunology, 1981
Abstract Polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) from healthy volunteers were tested for ADCC activity against both erythrocyte and tumor targets with and without the addition of human leukocyte interferon (IFN). It was demonstrated that IFN within 30 to 60 min enhanced the reaction in a dose-dependent manner with minimal IFN doses ranging ...

HIV-1-Specific Antibody-Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity (ADCC)

2003
Antibodies elicited during the course of HIV-1 infection can act as a bridge between cytolytic cells and HIV-1-infected cells or other cells that have passively absorbed appropriate HIV-1-antigens. These cytolytic cells cause lysis of the HIV-1-infected cells thereby decreasing viral load (1-5) .

Cooperation of IgG Monoclonal Antibodies in Macrophage Antibody-Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity (ADCC) to Tumor Targets

Journal of Leukocyte Biology, 1984
Abstract Six IgG monoclonal antibodies representing the four murine IgG isotypes were active individually in ADCC to T-lymphoma targets mediated by murine macrophages and human blood K cells. The monoclonals were directed against four antigens (Thy-1.2, H-2k, Ly 2.1, Ly 9.2).

Effect of interferon on antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) in chickens.

Acta microbiologica Hungarica, 1984
The influence of chicken leukocyte interferon (IFN) on the antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) of peripheral blood mononuclear cells of chickens has been investigated in vivo and in vitro. The cytotoxic effect was studied on sheep red blood cells (SRBC) coated with chicken anti-SRBC serum.

Cyclophosphamide inhibits antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) suppression exerted by lymph node cells

Cellular Immunology, 1985
The effect of cyclophosphamide (Cy) on suppression of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) by lymph node cells (LNC) was evaluated. The results show that the suppression of ADCC exerted by LNC was abrogated when mice had been treated with Cy.

Antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) in colorectal carcinoma. I. Favorable prognosis in female patients

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1983
AbstractIn an immunological study of 288 colorectal carcinoma patients, we investigated the relationship between survival and preoperative in vitro antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) against the colonic carcinoma cell line HT‐29. A highly significantly favorable (p = 0.001) association was found in the 20 female patients with ADCC.

A comparison of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) mediated by murine and human lymphoid cell populations

Cellular Immunology, 1977
Abstract Mouse lymphoid cells are known to lyse chicken red blood cells (CRBC) in the presence of antibody and in the absence of complement. They have also been reported to effect lysis of mouse tumor cells and other nucleated targets, although this has been disputed.
