Novel Biologically Active Glass Fiber Functionalized Using Magnesium Phosphate Cement Promotes Bone and Vascular Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In this study, a new type of bioactive glass fiber ‐based composite magnesium phosphate bone cement is prepared and verified that its mechanical strength and biological properties. In addition, the cement may have played a biologically active role in the Notch and HIF signaling pathways.

Time‐Controlled Dual Targeting to Program Systemic and Intercellular Transfer of Therapeutic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Aspirin‐liposomes loaded onto monocytes enable inflammation‐triggered targeting and efficient hand‐over of aspirin to inflamed cells. Monocytes uptake a significant portion of aspirin‐liposomes, prolonging therapeutic action. This approach enhances anti‐inflammatory effects through intercellular transfer, demonstrating a translational strategy for ...

Electric Pulse Regulated MXene Based Nanozymes for Integrative Bioelectricity Immuno‐Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXenzyme‐mediated bioelectricity cancer therapy (MXenzyme‐BECT) enhances cancer cell death through irreversible depolarization, ion channel disruption, ROS generation, and immunogenic cell death. Computational simulations reveal the electrical mechanisms by which MXenzyme acts on single cells and support to predict treatment parameters. Next‐generation

Developing a computational model of blood platelets with fluid dynamics applications [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
This paper worked towards modeling blood platelets. Blood platelets, also known as thrombocytes, play a key role in blood clotting which is a vital human function. Furthermore, the role of these entities in strokes, myocardial infarctions, and coronary artery disease add to the importance of blood platelets.

Optimizing Angiopep‐2 Density on Polymeric Nanoparticles for Enhanced Blood–Brain Barrier Penetration and Glioblastoma Targeting: Insights From In Vitro and In Vivo Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Angiopep‐2 peptide density on polymeric nanoparticles significantly impacts blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration. This study explores this nuanced relationship using various in vitro models and in vivo assays, revealing that dynamic models better predict BBB penetration.

Pyelolithotomy in a patient with Glanzmann thrombasthenia and antiglycoprotein IIb/IIIa antibodies: the shortest possible duration of treatment with recombinant activated factor VII and platelet transfusions

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 2003
Transfusion of platelet concentrates remains the first-line therapy for Glanzmann thrombasthenia in case of bleeding or preparation for surgery. However, development of antibodies to platelet glycoprotein (Gp) IIb/IIIa complex or human leukocyte ...

Pesquisa de anticorpos antiplaquetários. As primeiras cem amostras estudadas.

open access: yesActa Médica Portuguesa, 2000
Two types of platelet alloantigens are considered: type I, which refers to platelet alloantigens shared by platelets and other cells; and type II, which comprises the platelet-specific alloantigens.

Canalization of the evolutionary trajectory of the human influenza virus [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
Since its emergence in 1968, influenza A (H3N2) has evolved extensively in genotype and antigenic phenotype. Antigenic evolution occurs in the context of a two-dimensional 'antigenic map', while genetic evolution shows a characteristic ladder-like genealogical tree. Here, we use a large-scale individual-based model to show that evolution in a Euclidean
