Plastin‐2 (PLS2) is identified as a dual‐function receptor on DCs that mediates both nanoparticle uptake and immunomodulation. A nanobody‐LNP platform is engineered to integrate antigen delivery with relicensing DCs. The therapeutic strategy elicits potent anti‐tumor T cell responses and leads to significant inhibition of established tumors in vivo ...

B4GALNT2 and xenotransplantation: A newly appreciated xenogeneic antigen [PDF]
Analysis of non-Gal antibody induced after pig-to-baboon cardiac xenotransplantation identified the glycan produced by porcine beta-1,4-N-acetyl-galactosaminyltransferase 2 (B4GALNT2) as an immunogenic xenotransplantation antigen.

Tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens of MUC1 – Implication in cancer development
Glycosylation of cancerous epithelial MUC1 protein is specifically altered in comparison to that which is presented by healthy cells. One of such changes is appearing tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs) which are rare in normal tissues and are highly correlated with poor clinical outcomes and cancer progression.

The Carcinoembryonic Antigen Gene Family [PDF]
The molecular cloning of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and several cross-reacting antigens reveals a basic domain structure for the whole family, which shows structural similarities to the immunoglobulin superfamily.

Differentiation-dependent glycosylation of cells in squamous cell epithelia detected by a mammalian lectin [PDF]
The squamous stratified epithelia contain a proliferative (harboring mitotic activity) and a differentiating compartment. Due to the potential of protein-carbohyd rate interactions to regulate cellular activities we introduced a mammalian lectin to cyto-

Cancer Vaccines in Ovarian Cancer: How Can We Improve? [PDF]
Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is one important cause of gynecologic cancer-related death. Currently, the mainstay of ovarian cancer treatment consists of cytoreductive surgery and platinum-based chemotherapy (introduced 30 years ago) but, as the ...
