Fungal Proteins with Antiproliferative and Anticancer Activities
Protein & Peptide Letters, 2013Fungi produce a variety of proteins with antiproliferative activity toward tumor cells and anticancer activity in tumor bearing mice. The aforementioned fungal proteins include ribonucleases, antifungal proteins, ubiquitin-like peptides, ribosome inactivating proteins, hemolysins, hemagglutinins/lectins, laccases, and protein-bound polysaccharopeptides.

Antiproliferative activities of tea and herbal infusions
Food & Function, 2013The consumption of tea and herbal infusions has increased rapidly in recent years. More and more people consume these infusions as daily beverages as well as for health purposes. The aim of this study was to supply new information on the antiproliferative function of these infusions for nutritionists and the general public.

[Antiproliferative activities of interferon-alpha].
Gan to kagaku ryoho. Cancer & chemotherapy, 1985The antiproliferative activities of human lymphoblastoid interferon-alpha (MOR-22) against 22 cultured human cell lines were examined. Daudi cells and ACHN cells were highly sensitive to interferon compared with other human cells. The cell lines derived from renal and brain tumors showed concentration-dependent growth inhibition as determined from a 7 ...

Antioxidant and Antiproliferative Activities of Common Vegetables
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2002Epidemiological studies have shown that consumption of fruits and vegetables is associated with reduced risk of chronic diseases. Increased consumption of fruits and vegetables containing high levels of phytochemicals has been recommended to prevent chronic diseases related to oxidative stress in the human body. In this study, 10 common vegetables were

Vanillin-derived antiproliferative compounds influence Plk1 activity
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2014We synthesized a series of vanillin-derived compounds and analyzed them in HeLa cells for their effects on the proliferation of cancer cells. The molecules are derivatives of the lead compound SBE13, a potent inhibitor of the inactive conformation of human polo-like kinase 1 (Plk1). Some of the new designs were able to inhibit cancer cell proliferation

Antiproliferative Activity of Cephalotaxus Esters: Overcoming Chemoresistance
Combinatorial Chemistry & High Throughput ScreeningIntroduction: Omacetaxine, a semisynthetic form of Homoharringtonine (HHT), was approved for the treatment of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). Previously, we have published the synthesis of this natural alkaloid and three of its derivatives: Deoxyharringtonine (DHT), Deoxyhomoharringtonine (DHHT), and Bis(demethyl)-deoxyharringtonine (BDHT), and ...
