Synthesis and antiproliferative activity of retroetoposide
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2003Retro-4'-demethyl-4-epipodophyllotoxin 6 was synthesized in eight steps and 10% overall yield from 4'-demethyl-4-epipodophyllotoxin 12. Subsequent coupling of 22 with 1-O-trimethylsilyl-4,6-O-ethylidene-beta-D-glucoside 26 afforded retroetoposide 5 which is 10-fold less cytotoxic than etoposide against L1210 cell line.

Antioxidant and Antiproliferative Activities of Raspberries
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2002Raspberries are rich in phenolic phytochemicals. To study the health benefits of raspberries, four fresh raspberry varieties (Heritage, Kiwigold, Goldie, and Anne) were evaluated for total antioxidant and antiproliferative activities. The total amount of phenolics and flavonoids for each of the four raspberry varieties was determined.

Antiproliferative Activity of Cobra Venom Cytotoxins
Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry, 2015Cytotoxins (or cardiotoxins, CTs) are small rigid membrane-active proteins of the three-finger toxin (TFT) family. They comprise about 60 amino acid residues, stabilized by four disulphide bridges. CTs, the most abundant proteins in cobra venom are able to kill cancer cells in a dose and time-dependent manner.

Antioxidant and Antiproliferative Activities of Strawberries
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2003Strawberries contain high levels of antioxidants, which have been correlated with a decreased risk of chronic disease. To more fully characterize the antioxidant profiles and possible associated health benefits of this fruit, the total free and bound phenolic, total flavonoid, and total anthocyanin contents of eight strawberry cultivars (Earliglow ...

Synthesis and antiproliferative activity of alkylphosphocholines
Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, 2003Alkylphosphocholines (APC) with one or more methylene groups in the alkyl chain replaced by oxygen atoms or carbonyl groups, or both have been assembled modularly using omega-diols as central building blocks. Out of 25 new compounds of this kind, 11 were evaluated for their antiproliferative activity on four cell lines and compared with miltefosine to ...

Antiproliferative and Cytotoxic Activities
2018Cancer is a genetic disease, affecting many people worldwide. Chemotherapy is routinely used for cancer treatment. However, this therapeutic approach is not always effective due to the development of cell resistance and toxic effects. Plants are a reservoir of natural chemicals with chemoprotective potential against cancer and with low adverse effects.
