Evaluation of the Utilization Pattern of Veterinary Drugs in Selected Veterinary Clinics of Mekelle City, Tigray, Ethiopia

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Veterinary drug utilization patterns were assessed in three veterinary clinics in Mekelle City, Ethiopia. Antimicrobials, particularly oxytetracycline, constitute the majority of prescriptions, followed by anthelmintics. Drug prescribing frequently relies on tentative diagnosis rather than evidence‐based diagnostic procedures.

Blood Protozoan Infection Disrupts Ovarian Follicular Development in Dairy Cattle: A Mechanistic Link to Reproductive Failure

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Subclinical haemoprotozoan infection disrupts RBC integrity, and that leads to decreased Hb level and excess free iron in plasma. That subsequently impairs ovarian follicular development and thereby builds up a mechanistic link to reproductive failure in dairy cattle.

Synthesis, Characterization, Molecular Docking Study and Biological Evaluation of Novel 1,3,4‐Thiadiazole‐Based Heterocycles as Potential Anticancer and Antioxidant Agents

open access: yesChemical Biology &Drug Design, Volume 108, Issue 1, July 2026.
A new cyanoacetohydrazide derivative was developed as a key intermediate to synthesize diverse 1,3,4‐thiadiazole‐based heterocyclic compounds. The synthesized compounds were structurally confirmed. Several compounds demonstrated strong cytotoxic activity against HePG‐2 and MCF‐7 cancer cell lines, with compounds 17, 18, and 13 exceeding the activity of

Synthesis of Oxazolyl‐Piperidines Bearing a Quaternary Stereocenter Through a Multicomponent Reaction Involving α‐Isocyanoacetates and Piperidones

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 24, 23 June 2026.
Straightforward access to oxazole‐containing piperidines through a multicomponent reaction from α‐isocyanoacetates is described. By expanding the reactivity of these a‐isocyanoacetates from aldehydes to ketones, this process efficiently delivers oxazolyl‐piperidines bearing a quaternary stereocenter as valuable scaffolds relevant to drug discovery. The

Hierarchically Engineered Multi‐Enzyme Nanoreactors for in vitro Drug Biosynthesis and Pathway Transplantation Into Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 34, 17 June 2026.
A hierarchically structured metal–organic framework (eMIL) is shown to host the complete six‐enzyme biosynthesis pathway for the anti‐cancer pigment violacein, reshaping reaction dynamics and multiplying in vitro yields. eMIL nanoreactors deliver this reconstituted bacterial multi‐protein system into mammalian cells, where cell‐derived substrates and ...
