Bioinformatics analysis identifies a novel 4-gene signature associated with immune cell infiltration in osteoarthritis: a combined bioinformatics and experimental validation study

open access: yesScientific Reports
Osteoarthritis is the most common degenerative joint condition, yet its pathogenesis remains incompletely understood. This study aims to identify key differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in osteoarthritis-affected synovial tissues and investigate ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Dynamical approaches to modeling developmental gene regulatory networks

open access: yes
The network of interacting regulatory signals within a cell comprises one of the most complex and powerful computational systems in biology. Gene regulatory networks play a key role in transforming the information encoded in a genome into morphological ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Chronic hypercortisolism disrupts the principal functional gradient in Cushing’s disease: A multi-scale connectomics and transcriptomics study

open access: yesNeuroImage: Clinical
Cushing’s disease (CD) represents a state of cortisol excess, serving as a model to investigate the effects of prolonged hypercortisolism on functional brain. Potential alterations in the functional connectome of the brain may explain frequently reported

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

A Morphological Associative Memory Employing A Stored Pattern Independent Kernel Image and Its Hardware Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
An associative memory provides a convenient way for pattern retrieval and restoration, which has an important role for handling data distorted with noise.

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...
