Effect of mutating the tubulin-binding site on AT1R export from the ER.
(A) Co-localization of AT1R and its mutant 4K–4E with the ER marker DsRed2-ER. HEK293 cells cultured on coverslips were transfected with GFP-tagged AT1R or its mutant 4K–4E together with pDsRed2-ER.

Losartan partially reversed serum metabolomic aging signatures in both aged mice and pre‐frail older men, and this effect required functional angiotensin II receptors in mice. Cross‐species analyses suggest aging shifts circulating metabolites in opposite directions in mice versus humans, particularly among lipids, with losartan partially normalizing ...

Ace Inhibitors and AT1R Blockers for COVID-2019: Friends or Foes ?
Human respiratory beta coronavirus are emerging causes for Public Health Emergencies of International Concern (PHEIC). SARS-CoV2 is circulating worldwide since November 2019. We review here the cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in COVID-19, and data supporting the role for dysregulation of the RAS counterregulatory axis due to binding of SARS-CoV2

Effect of mutating Lys residues on the cell surface and total expression of AT1R.
(A) AT1R and its mutants K310E, K311E and 4K–4E were either tagged with three HA at their N-termini or with GFP at their C-termini. HEK293 cells were transfected with HA-tagged receptors and the cell surface expression of the receptors was measured by ...

Sex‐Dependent Effects of Angiotensin II and Calcineurin in the Vasculature of Mice
ABSTRACT Aim Cardiovascular diseases display strong sex differences. Angiotensin II (AngII) is implicated in this process. The ubiquitously expressed enzymatic beta subunit of calcineurin (PPP3CB), a serine/threonine phosphatase, can mediate pathological effects of AngII in the heart.

Cardiac remodelling and fibrosis after myocardial infarction or during chronic diseases, such as arterial and pulmonary hypertension or diabetes mellitus, continue to be the more important prognostic factors in determining survival, and so the search for effective anti‐fibrotic interventions is an important target for research and therapy in cardiology.

Identification of essential residues in the AT1R CT for tubulin interaction.
(A) Sequence of the AT1R CT containing four Lys residues at positions 307, 308, 310 and 311. (B) Effect of mutating the four Lys residues to Glu on the AT1R CT interaction with tubulin.

Abstract Chronic volume overload is a major risk factor of hypertension and mortality in chronic dialysis patients. However, the mechanisms responsible for hypertension are unclear. We studied 32 patients (age 23–68 years, 19 females) in chronic hemodiafiltration classified by their interdialytic ambulatory blood pressure (idABP, mmHg) in three groups:

AT1R gene polymorphism contributes to MACCEs in Hypertension patients
Abstract OBJECTIVE: To investigate the possible association between AT1R gene polymorphisms and major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs) in hypertension patients combined with or without coronary heart disease (CHD) in Xinjiang. METHODS: 374 CHD patients and 341 non-CHD individuals were enrolled as study participants and

Na‐K ATPase Regulation by Cardioglycosides: Role of AT1R
Cardioglycosides are specific inhibitors of Na‐K ATPase; however, at low doses increase BP and Na‐K ATPase activity in kidney basolateral membranes. TIRF and FRET microscopy suggested that 10 pM ouabain associates with Na‐K only at cell‐cell junctions. We hypothesized that low and high molar ouabain interacts with divergent sets of surface proteins in ...
