EGFR-mediated activation of adipose tissue macrophages promotes obesity and insulin resistance

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
In obesity, adipose tissue is chronically inflamed, leading to insulin resistance, and adipose tissue macrophages (ATMs) are a major source of cytokines that aggravate adipocyte dysfunction. Here, the authors show that selective deletion of the epidermal

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Single-atom catalysts supported on atomically thin materials for water splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Powder Materials
Single-atom catalysts (SACs) have demonstrated exceptional performance in electrocatalytic water splitting, owing to their maximized atomic utilization efficiency and superior reaction kinetics. The incorporation of SACs typically depends on robust metal-

Compatibility and Pricing with Indirect Network Effects: Evidence from ATMs [PDF]

open access: yes
Incompatibility in markets with indirect network effects can affect prices if consumers value "mix and match" combinations of complementary network components. In this paper, we examine the effects of incompatibility using data from a classic market with

The Influence Of Interior Design To Prevent Crime Actions In Autimatic Teller Machine (ATM) Room [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This study departs from the phenomenon of increasing crime that occurred at the Automatic Teller Machine (ATM). The rise of crime at ATMs does not only occur in Indonesia, but almost all over the world.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Investment and Usage of New Technologies: Evidence from a Shared ATM Network [PDF]

open access: yes
When new technologies become available, it is not only essential that firms have the correct investment incentives, but often also that consumers make the proper usage decisions. This paper studies investment and usage in a shared ATM network.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.
