ABSTRACT The Gollum Channel System is a land‐detached large‐scale canyon‐channel system situated offshore southwest Ireland on the Northeast Atlantic margin. The system has been considered inactive with downslope gravity flows since the last glacial period, but geophysical data in some of its branches do suggest Holocene activity.

Thruster fault diagnosis method based on Gaussian particle filter for autonomous underwater vehicles
Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) generally work in complex marine environments. Any fault in AUVs may cause significant losses. Thus, system reliability and automatic fault diagnosis are important.

Real‐Time Detection and Prevention of DoS Attack in Unmanned Marine Vehicles Using Machine Learning
ABSTRACT Unmanned marine vehicles (UMVs) are one of the most crucial components of the underwater communication and surveillance system in the marine and oceanographic environment. This research introduces a novel approach to stabilize the connection in an unstable underwater environment by inheriting features of communication velocities.

ABSTRACT The vocabulary load of university lectures and the coverage of academic vocabulary in spoken discourse have been used as benchmarks in researching whether various listening sources lexically correspond to actual university lectures. However, it remains unexplored whether contrived lecture passages from international academic English ...

Abstract In oceanic frontal regions, isopycnal stirring induces lateral thermohaline intrusion. Previous studies have observed interleaving layers in the Izu Ridge and Kuroshio Extension attributed to isopycnal stirring driven by mesoscale eddies and submesoscale flows.

The Arctic Coastal Erosion Model: Overview, Developments, and Calibration at Drew Point, Alaska
Abstract Permafrost coastlines are experiencing significant erosion as polar amplification has enhanced the effects of climate change in the Arctic. Warmer temperatures are increasing thermo‐denudation and more energetic oceans are increasing thermo‐abrasion in unlithified, ice‐bonded permafrost coastlines which comprise at least 40% of the circum ...
