Novel Antifungal Scaffold Targeting Tubulin Overcomes Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Addressing pesticide resistance, novel chromone‐acylhydrazone hybrids targeting fungal tubulin are synthesized. Compound G24 potently inhibited S. sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.21µg mL−1) and demonstrated enhanced field performance via microencapsulation, offering a sustainable strategy against resistance and for global food security.

The Link between Protein Kinase CK2 and Atypical Kinase Rio1

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2017
The atypical kinase Rio1 is widespread in many organisms, ranging from Archaebacteria to humans, and is an essential factor in ribosome biogenesis. Little is known about the protein substrates of the enzyme and small-molecule inhibitors of the kinase ...

Bandgap‐Dependent Doping of Semiconducting Carbon Nanotube Networks by Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfer for Stable Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Proton‐coupled electron transfer doping with benzoquinone is applied to p‐dope dense films of semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes. The doping efficiency depends on the pH of the doping solution and the bandgap of the nanotubes. The highest conductivities and power factors are achieved for small‐bandgap nanotubes, remaining stable for over 120

Design, Synthesis and Evaluation of Antiproliferative Activity of New Benzimidazolehydrazones

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
The synthesis and antiproliferative activity of new benzimidazole derivatives bearing an hydrazone mojety at the 2-position is described. The new N′-(4-arylidene)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole-2-carbohydrazides were evaluated for their cytostatic activity toward ...

Understanding the Interplay Between Thermal Activation, Diffusion, and Phase Segregation of Molecular Dopants Blended with Polymeric Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The use of air stable but thermally labile molecules provides an efficient strategy for the N‐type doping of organic semiconductors with relatively low electron affinities. Design criteria for efficient dopants should also take into account diffusion and phase segregation that cannot be decoupled from thermally activated doping.

Atomically Thin Sieves: Two‐Dimensional Materials for Membrane Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Atomically thin membranes derived from 2D materials overcome the inherent selectivity‐permeability trade‐off in conventional separation technologies. This perspective elucidates transport mechanisms for gases, water, and ions, surveys fabrication strategies including top‐down pore engineering and bottom‐up synthesis, highlights recent experimental and ...

Evolved DNAzymes and Stable Activation Chemistry Enable High‐Efficiency DNA Ligation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
In vitro selection of pre‐structured DNA libraries and chemical screening of alternative activation groups yielded trans‐acting DNAzymes with faster ligation rates and enhanced DNA substrate stability. The combination of C3S1 DNAzymes and phosphobenzimidazole‐activated DNA substrates provides improved DNA ligation performance, offering promise for ...

2-Benzoyl-1H-benzimidazole [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2010
In the title compound, C(14)H(10)N(2)O, the benzoyl ring and benzimidazole ring system are aligned at a dihedral angle of 50.2 (2)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds between adjacent imidazole groups generate supra-molecular C(4) chains running along the b axis.
