Abstract Berberine is an isoquinoline alkaloid with multiple pharmacological actions, including an anti-inflammatory activity. The effects of berberine on in-vitro cellular proliferation of human peripheral lymphocytes stimulated with phytohaemagglutinin, concanavalin A and pokeweed mitogen were studied.
