Statistical investigation of the full concentration range of fasted and fed simulated intestinal fluid on the equilibrium solubility of oral drugs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Upon oral administration the solubility of a drug in intestinal fluid is a key property influencing bioavailability. It is also recognised that simple aqueous solubility does not reflect intestinal solubility and to optimise in vitro investigations ...

Instant FaSSIF and FeSSIF—Biorelevance Meets Practicality [PDF]

open access: yesDissolution Technologies, 2009
The objective of this study was to prepare an “instant” form of FaSSIF and FeSSIF that could be implemented easily and reproducibly in the laboratory setting. Concentrated solutions containing bile salts and lecithin were freeze-dried and further processed into bulk packs, blisters, or tablets, or sealed in powder form under nitrogen in vials. Physical

In Vitro–In Vivo Relationship in Mini-Scale—Enabling Formulations of Corallopyronin A

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2022
In vivo studies in mice provide a valuable model to test novel active pharmaceutical ingredients due to their low material need and the fact that mice are frequently used as a species for early efficacy models.

Dithioketal Polymers Via Radical Polymerization of γ‐Dithiobutyrolactone

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
γ‐Dithiobutyrolactone (DTBL) behaves like a ring‐retaining monomer in radical copolymerization with a series of conjugated monomers like styrene, t‐butyl acrylate and N,N‐dimethylacrylamide. The resulting copolymers contain controlled fractions of dithioketal linkages in their backbone, allowing chemical degradation.

Synthesis and Characterization of a New Norfloxacin/Resorcinol Cocrystal with Enhanced Solubility and Dissolution Profile

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2021
A new cocrystal of Norfloxacin, a poorly soluble fluoroquinolone antibiotic, has been synthetized by a solvent-mediated transformation experiment in toluene, using resorcinol as a coformer. The new cocrystal exists in both anhydrous and monohydrate forms
