Cryopreservation of black chokeberry in vitro shoot apices.

Cryo letters, 2009
In vitro shoot apices of black chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa Elliott) were successfully cryopreserved utilizing three methods, namely vitrification, encapsulation-vitrification and encapsulation-dehydration. Encapsulation-dehydration and encapsulation-vitrification, however, seem preferable to vitrification, since the highest respective survival ...

Anticoagulant effect of polyphenols-rich extracts from black chokeberry and grape seeds

Fitoterapia, 2011
Blood coagulation consists of a series of zymogens that can be converted by limited proteolysis to active enzymes leading to the generation of thrombin. Fresh plasma and human thrombin was incubated with extracts from berries of Aronia melanocarpa or seeds of Vitis vinifera (0.5; 5; 50 μg/ml).

Lipid composition of Bulgarian chokeberry, black currant and rose hip seed oils

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1999
The lipid composition of chokeberry, black currant and rose hip seeds was investigated. The seeds contain 19.3g kg(-1), 22.0 g kg(-1) and 8.2 g kg(-1) glyceride oil respectively. The content of phospholipids, mainly phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylethanolamine, was 2.8 g kg(-1), 1.3 g kg(-1) and 1.4 g kg(-1) respectively.
