Beta - caroteno e câncer [PDF]

open access: yesRevista De Nutricao, 1998
Estudos epidemiológicos observacionais, tipo caso-controle e coorte, sugerem

Caroteno-protein complexes in four species of echinodermata from the adriatic

Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 1983
Abstract Caroteno-proteins containing astaxanthin, canthaxanthin, zeaxanthin and isozeaxanthin were purified from three species of starfish ( Astropecten aurantiacus, A. spinulosus and Echinaster sepositus ) and one species of sea-urchin ( Paracentrotus lividus ) from the Adriatic.

Caroteno-protein and exopolysaccharide production by co-cultures of Rhodotorula glutinis and Lactobacillus helveticus

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology, 1997
The lactose-negative yeast Rhodotorula glutinis 22P and the homofermentative lactic acid bacterium Lactobacillus helveticus 12A were cultured together in a cheese whey ultrafiltrate containing 42 g L-1 lactose. The chemical composition of the caroteno-protein has been determined.

Avaliação da metodologia analítica para determinação de beta-caroteno em macarrão fortificado

open access: yesFood Science and Technology, 1998
O beta-caroteno sintético pode ser adicionado tecnologicamente ao macarrão na forma de solução oleosa, emulsões dispersíveis em água ou sob a forma de esferas coloidais, com a finalidade de melhorar a sua cor e valor vitamínico.

[Caroteno-protein complexes in Axinella verrucosa (Porifera: Demospongae)].

Bollettino della Societa italiana di biologia sperimentale, 1989
Carotenoproteins are common to a wide variety of animals, most notably invertebrates although other animal groups have been shown to have these complexes as well. In a previous paper alpha-carotene, renieratene, isorenieratene and an unknown isomer of renieratene were isolated, but at present nothing is known about nature of the carotenoid-protein ...

α-, β-caroteno e α-tocoferol em algas marinhas in natura [PDF]

open access: yesFood Science and Technology, 2008
The aim of this work was to evaluate the potential of 32 marine macro algae species, members of Chlorophyta, Rhodophyta and Phaeophyta, as sources of a-carotene, b-carotene and a-tocopherol. Both b-carotene and a-carotene were found in all species of green macroalgae analyzed.
