Engineered CAR‐NKT Extracellular Vesicles Suppress Tumor Progression and Enhance Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
TM4SF1‐nanobody engineered CAR‐natural killer T–derived extracellular vesicles (CARTM4SF1‐EVs) provide a cell‐free alternative to CAR‐NKT therapy, achieving potent, targeted antitumor activity with reduced toxicity. CARTM4SF1‐EVs induce immunogenic cell death, remodel the tumor microenvironment, and enhance CD8⁺ T‐cell antitumor immunity.

Cytotoxic activity of invariant NKT cells in human allergic contact dermatitis

open access: yes, 2009
Cytotoxic activity of invariant NKT cells in human allergic contact dermatitis Background: The role of cytotoxicity of NKT-cells in the skin is not defined. There are two prototypic skin diseases in which epidermal Keratinocytes (KC) over-express CD1d, a

Ex vivo analysis of resident hepatic pro-inflammatory CD1d-reactive T cells and hepatocyte surface CD1d expression in hepatitis C

open access: yes, 2013
Hepatic CD1d-restricted and natural killer T-cell populations are heterogeneous. Classical 'type 1′ α-galactosylceramide-reactive CD1d-restricted T cells express 'invariant' TCRα ('iNKT').

Helminths as architects of trained tolerance: implications for human health

open access: yesClinical &Translational Immunology, Volume 15, Issue 3, 2026.
Abstract Helminths infect nearly 2 billion people worldwide and are a major cause of chronic morbidity in low‐resource regions. Unlike bacterial and viral pathogens that elicit protective memory, helminths actively remodel host immunity to enable their years‐long persistence and reinfection.

38‐Marker Full‐Spectrum Flow Cytometry Panel for the Comprehensive Profiling of γδ T Cells in Human Blood and Lymphoid Tissues

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 3, March 2026.
This is an update to the Guidelines for the Use of Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting in Immunological Studies (Third Edition), Chapter 12C, by Cossarizza et al. A 38‐marker full‐spectrum flow cytometry panel enabling high‐resolution profiling of human γδ T cells across blood and lymphoid tissues, including robust identification of rare, tissue‐adapted ...

CD1d-restricted NKT cells contribute to malarial splenomegaly and enhance parasite-specific antibody responses

open access: yes, 2003
CD1d-restricted NKT cells are a novel T cell lineage with unusual features. They co-express some NK cell receptors and recognize glycolipid antigens through an invariant T cell receptor (TCR) in the context of CD1d molecules.

Contribution of NKT cells to the immune response and pathogenesis triggered by respiratory viruses

open access: yesVirulence, 2020
Human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV) cause acute respiratory tract infections in children worldwide. Natural killer T (NKT) cells are unconventional T lymphocytes, and their TCRs recognize glycolipids bound to the MHC-

Characterisation of expression and function of respiratory epithelial CD1d

open access: yes, 2014
In this thesis, I examined the expression of CD1d on respiratory epithelial cells (REC) in human and explored its potential role in mucosal immunity in the lungs. Hitherto, there have been no published reports of CD1d expression on REC though it has been
