CD47, a novel YAP target gene, contributes to hepatic stellate cell activation and liver fibrosis induced by high-fat diet

open access: yesHeliyon
Activated hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) have been widely recognized as a primary source of pathological myofibroblasts, leading to the accumulation of extracellular matrix and liver fibrosis. CD47, a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of

Bioengineered Extracellular Vesicles in Emerging Cancer Vaccine Platforms

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in engineering extracellular vesicles (EVs) as next‐generation cancer vaccines. It outlines their biological roles and antigen‐presenting capacity, explores key strategies for antigen loading and delivery optimization, and summarizes preclinical and clinical applications using EVs from diverse immune and tumor ...

Unlocking the Architecture and Component Distribution of Bioengineered and Derived Colloidal Structures from Blood with Neutron Scattering

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Blood‐ and red blood cell (RBC)‐derived colloids are promising biomedical materials but are structurally complex. This work demonstrates how small‐ and ultra‐small‐angle neutron scattering (SANS and USANS) with contrast variation reveal the micro/nanoarchitectures of RBC ghosts, extracellular vesicles (EVs), and plasma proteins.

PET/NIR‐II fluorescence imaging and image‐guided surgery of breast cancer using a CD47‐specific nanobody

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
A CD47‐targeted dual‐modal imaging probe combining positron emission tomography and second near‐infrared fluorescence enables precise preoperative tumor localization and intraoperative guidance for complete resection of breast cancer lesions, including metastases, offering a promising strategy to enhance surgical accuracy and improve clinical outcomes.

Bionic nanobombs target nasopharyngeal carcinoma to enhance the efficacy of chemoradiotherapy by destroying DNA damage repair systems

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
A bionic nanomedicine system with core–shell structure (Nm‐pAu/CP/KU) was constructed. PEGylated gold nanoparticles (pAu) were loaded with cisplatin (CP) and a radiochemotherapy sensitizer (KU‐60019) to form the core pAu/CP/KU, and homologous nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell membrane vesicles (Nm) were used as the shell.
