Abstract Background As cold‐stored platelets (CSPs) are being integrated into clinical practice, it is necessary to determine the storage practices that best support platelet quality while remaining operationally feasible. Platelet components are traditionally stored at room temperature, in a single layer, to facilitate gas exchange.

Abstract Aging leads to a decline in function of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and increases susceptibility to hematological disease. We found CD61 to be highly expressed in aged murine HSCs. Here, we investigate the role of CD61 in identifying distinct subpopulations of aged HSCs and assess how expression of CD61

ABSTRACT Background Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is difficult to distinguish from lymphoblastic leukemia or lymphoma (LL) on morphologic features alone. Therapeutic approaches for AML versus LL differ, and immediate therapy is often needed due to patient illness and rapid disease progression.

Abstract Background and Objectives Reduced metabolic activity of cold‐stored platelets (CSPs) has led to the assumption that agitation is not required during cold storage. However, guidelines from the Food and Drug Administration state that agitation is ‘optional’ and there is a degree of international variability described in the literature.

ABSTRACT Background TAFRO syndrome is a rare inflammatory disorder whose hepatic manifestations may mimic decompensated cirrhosis. Cases: We report two women with TAFRO syndrome associated with portal‐sinusoidal vascular disorder (PSVD), a rare cause of non‐cirrhotic portal hypertension. In both cases, liver biopsy excluded cirrhosis and confirmed PSVD.

• EV content maintains cellular homeostasis and is involved in several disease onset and progression. • miRNA export in EVs depends on: RNA‐binding proteins recognizing motif sequences and on epitranscriptomic modifications. • The disclosure of delivery mechanisms is crucial for developing personalized EV‐based therapeutic tools. ABSTRACT Extracellular

Accuracy of a New Platelet Count System (PLT-F) Depends on the Staining Property of Its Reagents. [PDF]
Platelet count is essential for the diagnosis and management of hemostasis abnormalities. Although existing platelet count methods installed in common hematology analyzers can correctly count platelets in normal blood samples, they tend to miscount ...

Application of new parameters of platelets (CD61 and reticulated platelets) in laboratory monitoring trombocytopenia [PDF]
INTRODUCTION. Reticulated platelets are the youngest form of circulating platelets characterized by a residual amount of iRNA. It has been suggested that the reticulated platelet count, providing an estimate of thrombopoiesis.
