An integrated method for cell isolation and migration on a chip

open access: yes, 2017
Tumour cell migration has an important impact on tumour metastasis. Magnetic manipulation is an ascendant method for guiding and patterning cells. Here, a unique miniaturized microfluidic chip integrating cell isolation and migration assay was designed ...

Global Array-Based Transcriptomics from Minimal Input RNA Utilising an Optimal RNA Isolation Process Combined with SPIA cDNA Probes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background: Technical advances in the collection of clinical material, such as laser capture microdissection and cell sorting, provide the advantage of yielding more refined and homogenous populations of cells.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Stray voltage symptoms common in dairy cattle eliminated by on-farm neutral isolation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Plan BDairy farmers with stray voltage symptoms in their cattle often spend thousands of dollars to do neutral isolation, which isolates the primary neutral of the electricity provider from the farm neutral to suppress stray voltage from off-farm sources

Cell Proteomic Footprint [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The authentication of mammalian cell cultures and their subpopulations are of tremendous demand in biotechnology and cell therapy. However, current techniques are either not efficient or can be very complex and expensive.

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Expression of the neural cell adhesion NCAM in endocrine cells of the ovary [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
In the adult mammalian ovary morphogenesis and differentiation processes are under hormonal control and, thus, occur in a highly regulated way during the sexual cycle.
